국문 초록

본 연구는 해방 전후의 순수문학 논쟁에 대해 고찰했다.해방 이전은 일제 식민지로 인해 이데올로기의 내면화가 이루어졌던 시기였다.1930년대 후반에 전개된 순수문학 논쟁은 세대 논쟁과 결부되어 진행되었다.유진오,김동리,김환태,이원조 등의참여 속에서 이루어졌지만,세대 논쟁의 연장선에서 이루어졌다는 한계에 의해 순수문학 논쟁 그 자체는 크게 심화·확장될 수 없었다.하지만 유진오,김환태 그리고 김동리 등에 의해 논의된 순수문학의 개념은 1930년대 후반에 전개되었던 휴머니즘 논쟁을 계승하면서 해방 이후의 순수문학 논쟁으로 연결된다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다. 해방 이후,좌우의 이념적 갈등 속에서 빚어진 순수문학 논쟁은 순수를 시대적 상황과의 관련성 속에서 파악하느냐 아니면 문학정신 그 자체에 대한 태도와 문학 그 자체에 대한 자세(인간성 옹호의 문학정신 본령정계의 문학)로 파악하느냐에 따라 좌익문학과 우익문학의 논리로 구분되었다.좌우익이라는 정치적 논리에 의해 전개된 만큼,많은 논자들이 참여한 가운데 논의의 심화와 확대를 가져올 수 있었다.그러나 좌우익의정치적 논리에서 출발했다는 태생적 한계에 의해 논쟁의 합의점이 애초에 불가능했으며 감정적 다툼으로 끝을 맺었다는 아쉬움을 남겼다.이상의 논의는 해방 전후의 순수문학 논쟁을 함께 연결하여 사유했다는 의의를 가진다.

영문 초록

This study examined the controversy over pure literature before and after liberation. Ideology was internalized by Japanese imperialism in the time before liberation. During this period, the pure literature debate was linked to the generational debate and was accomplished with the participation of Jin-oh Yoo, Dong-ri Kim, and others. However, owing to the limitation of being an extension of the latter, the former itself could not be greatly deepened or expanded. However, the concept of pure literature discussed by Yu Jin-oh and others is significant in that it inherited the humanism debate and is connected to the pure literature debate after liberation. After liberation, the debate began amidst ideological conflict between the left and the right. Purity was divided into the logic of left- and right-wing literature, depending on whether purity was understood in relation to the situation of the times or as an attitude toward the literary spirit itself and toward literature itself. As it was developed based on the political logic, it was able to deepen and expand the discussion with the participation of many commentators. However, this debate failed to reach an agreement and ended in an emotional fight, which caused disappointment. The above discussion is significant in that it comprehensively considers the pure literature debate before and after liberation.
