국문 초록

본 연구는 일반아동(TD) 및 언어발달지연아동(LI)의 이야기 산출능력과 작업기억 간 관계를 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이야기문법 평가를 통해 이야기의 거시구조를 분석하고, 발화길이(T-unit 수), 어휘다양성 (NDW), 구문복잡성(MLU-m)을 측정하여 미시 구조적 측면을 분석하였다. 또한, 작업기억과 관련된 이야기 산출능력 변인을 확인하였다. 연구에는 만 6-10세 아동 112명(TD 81명, LI 31명)이 참여하였으며, 이야기 산 출 및 회상 과제와 작업기억 과제를 수행하였다. 연구 결과, TD 집단이 LI 집단에 비해 이야기문법점수, 어휘 다양성, 구문복잡성에서 유의하게 높은 결과를 보였으며, 모든 작업기억 과제에서 유의하게 높은 수행력을 보였다. TD 집단의 경우 이야기 회상 과제의 어휘다양도와 일화적완충기, 시공간작업기억 간 유의한 정적 상관을 보였으며, LI 집단의 경우 이야기 산출 과제의 이야기문법 점수와 일화적완충기 간 유의한 정적 상관을 보였다. 산출 과제의 구문복잡도와 시공간 작업기억 간 정적 상관관계를 확인하였다. 또한, 일화적 완충기가 어휘적 다양도와 이야기 문법을 유의하게 예측하는 요인인 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the relationship between narrative skills and working memory in typically developing children and children with language delay. The macrostructure of narrative was analyzed through story grammar scores, and the microstructure was measured using measures of mean length of utterance (MLU-m), number of different words (NDW), and syntactic complexity (T-unit). Additionally, this study aimed to identify the cognitive variables related to narrative skills, specifically phonological working memory, spatial working memory, and the episodic buffer. A total of 112 children in the age range of 6-10 years from Seoul participated in the study, with 81 being typically developing children and 31 having delayed language development. All participants completed tasks related to narrative production, recall, and working memory. The study’s results revealed that the typically developing children group showed significantly higher scores in story grammar, lexical diversity (NDW), and syntactic complexity (MLU) compared to the group with delayed language development. Additionally, the typically developing children group demonstrated a significantly higher performance in non-word repetition, the matrix task, and word list recall tasks compared to the language delay group. Within the typically developing children group, significant positive correlations were observed between the lexical diversity and episodic buffer, as well as between the visuospatial working memory and narrative recall task. In the language delay group, a significant positive correlation was found between story grammar scores in the narrative production task and episodic buffer. A positive correlation between mean length of utterance in the production task and spatial working memory was found.. Additionally, the episodic buffer significantly predicted lexcial diversity and story grammar.
