統營 千尺樓 宴會에서의 歌曲唱과 時調唱의 연행 양상

국문 초록

『樂府 坤』(나손본)에 실린 통영 천척루 연회 관련 자료 20수는 지금까지 발견된 자료 중 연행공간과 목적이 분명하며, 가곡창 및 시조창 연행의 실상을 보여주는 유일한 자료라는 점에서 가장 큰 의미가 있다. 천척루 연회에는 6명의 기녀와 남성창자 3~4명, 악사 5~6명 등 시조 및 가곡 연행을 위해 동원된 인원만 15명 이상인 대규모 연회였다. 따라서 종 2품의 三道水軍統制使와 統制營 소속 관원들과 원근의 관원들이 총출동되었을 것이다. 연회의 규모와 <作統營千尺樓>의 내용을 고려할 때, 20수의 노래는 천척루 건립 기념 연회에서 演行된 작품들로 보인다. 20수의 작품은 남성 가객들 기녀들(花桂와 初月) 사이의 酬唱으로 구성된 10편, <作統營千尺樓> 4편, 기녀들(春鸚, 蓮花, 綿花, 미선) 및 놀이공간의 흥취와 마무리를 노래한 6편 등 총 3부분으로 나뉜다. 첫 번째 연행과 두 번째 연행은 독립적으로 완결된 구조를 가지며, 첫 번째(#574)와 마지막 작품(#593)은 연행 전체의 시작과 끝을 장식하는 노래들이다. 따라서 20수의 노래는 천척루 건립 기념 연회에서 미리 기획된 콘셉트에 따라 연행된, 구조적 완결성을 가진 하나의 공연이라 할 수 있다. 10여 수의 가곡을 연행할 경우, 현행 가곡 연행은 악곡별 연행 방식인 編歌 형식만이 전승되고 있다. 천척루 연회에서는 이와는 달리 ‘사랑’이나 ‘천척루’ 등 주제나 소재에 따른 ‘演行’이며, 시조창과 가곡창이 섞여 연행되었다는 점에서 편가와는 다른 형식의 가곡 및 시조 연행 양상이 있었음을 확인할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The 20 pieces related to the Tongyeong(統營) Cheoncheoknu(千尺樓)banquet published in 『Akbu Gon(樂府 坤)』 are the only materials that show the following characteristics. The space and purpose of the performance are clear. Gagokchang and Sijochang are mixed. It shows the reality of the performance in detail. The Cheoncheoknu banquet was a large-scale banquet with more than 15 people mobilized to perform Sijochang and Gagokchang, including 6 gisaeng, 3~4 male singers, and 5~6 musicians. Therefore, the commander of the three provincial naval forces, his officials, and officials from far and near would have been mobilized. Considering the scale of the banquet and the contents of , the 20 songs appear to be works performed at a banquet commemorating the establishment of Cheoncheoknu. The 20 works are divided into three parts: 10 pieces composed of songs exchanged between male singers and gisaengs, 4 pieces , and 6 pieces that sing about the pleasures and endings of gisaengs and amusement spaces. The first and second performances have an independently completed structure, and the first (#574) and last pieces (#593) are songs that decorate the beginning and end of the entire performance. Therefore, the 20 songs can be said to be a performance with structural integrity that was performed according to a pre-planned concept at the banquet commemorating the establishment of Cheoncheoknu. The current Gagokchang performance is only handed down in the form of singing several songs in the order of the music. Unlike this, the Cheoncheoknu Banquet was a ‘performance’ based on a theme or material such as ‘Love’ or ‘Cheoncheoknu’, and was performed with a mixture of Sijochang and Gagokchang. This method of performance was discovered for the first time.
