내포 천주교 유적의 세계유산 등재 방향 검토

국문 초록

본고는 내포지역에 분포한 천주교 유적들의 세계문화유산 등재 가능성을 모색하기 위하여 준비되었다. 한국천주교 문화의 두드러진 특징은자발성에 있다. 내포지역의 천주교회는 그 자발성과 독창성이 잘 드러나므로, 우선적으로 주목할 필요가 있다. 유산의 역사적 배경과 성격에대한 이해를 통해 다른 지역과 차별되는 세계유산의 등재 방향을 보다구체적으로 살펴볼 수 있을 것이다. 동시에 한국천주교회 유산의 성격을 총체적으로 연구하는 데에 필요한 하나의 사례가 될 수 있다. 이러한 이해를 바탕으로 세계유산 등재기준 Ⅲ에 입각하여, 최근 등재 경향에 맞추어 천주교 유산의 탁월한 보편적 가치를 발굴하고 어떠한 방향으로 전개해야 할지 고민해 보고자 한다.

영문 초록

This paper was prepared to explore the possibility of listing Catholicrelics distributed in the Naepo area as World Cultural Heritage. The cha-racteristic of Catholic culture, as evidenced by the Korean Catholic heri-tage, is spontaneity. The Catholic community in the Naepo region deservespriority attention as its spontaneity and originality are evident. It is neces-sary to understand the historical background of the heritage sites in theNaepo region and, based on this, identify the characteristic characteristicsthat distinguish it from other regions. And based on registration criteria Ⅲ,we would like to consider how to discover outstanding universal values andin what direction to develop them in line with recent registration trends.
