국문 초록

AI의 일상화가 된 오늘날, 곧 시행 될 2022 개정 교육과정에서는 모든 교과에서 인공지능을 활용한 교육을 권장(교육부, 2022)하고 있다. 이런 상황에서 본 연구는 초등학교 중·고학년을 대상으로 ‘AI 협업 미술 표현 활동’을 실행 연구로 진행하여 학생들의 생생한 경험과 연구자의 성찰을 통해 미술 교과에서 AI 활용의 방향과 시사점을 고찰하였다. 수업 초기, 학생들은 AI가 생성한 이미지에 대해 아쉬움을 보이며 직접 그리는 것을 더 선호하였다. 그러나 AI 활용 빈도가 늘어나며 아이디어 생성 과정에서 AI의 도움을 받는 것이 효과적이라는 의견을 주었으며 AI와 일대일로 대화하는 과정에 매우 흥미를 보였다. 이를 통해 다음과 같은 시사점을 도출하였다. 첫째, AI를 활용하기 위해서는 학습자 디지털 리터러시 역량에 맞는 개별적 교수·학습 환경 구성 및 실제 작품을 제작하며 AI 활용 연습이 필요하다. 둘째, 미술 교과에 대한 개인적 선호도에 따라 AI 활용 빈도 및 방법에 차이를 두어야 한다. 이는 AI와 협업하는 미술 표현의 가능성을 보여주는 동시에 모든 것이 디지털 및 자동화되는 오늘날, 생각과 느낌을 미술 재료를 활용해 표현하는 가치를 생각해볼 수 있다는 점에서 AI 시대 미술 교과의 방향성에 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

In today's era where AI has become a part of everyday life, this study implemented an 'AI Collaborative Art Expression Program' for upper elementary school students. During this program, students gained vivid experiences and, through the researcher's reflection, derived directions and implications for the use of AI in art subjects. The study found that students needed practice in using AI and tended to prefer drawing themselves, expressing dissatisfaction with AI-generated images. However, as the frequency of AI use increased, students found it effective to receive assistance from AI in the idea generation process and showed great interest in one-on-one conversations with AI. From these observations, the study draws the following implications: First, to integrate AI into the art expression process, it is necessary to create a teaching and learning environment that considers the digital capabilities of learners. Second, differences in the frequency and method of AI utilization should be based on individual preferences for the art subject. This suggests that while AI can assist in active learning, it also raises the need to consider the value of spontaneous idea development and direct expression in art activities, providing insights into the direction of art education in a world increasingly dominated by digitalization and automation.
