국문 초록

이 연구에서는 AI가 확산되는 상황에서 미래 세대인 고등학생들이 어떻게 AI를 이해하고 있는지를 파악하고, 학습자들의 AI 교육이 제대로 이뤄지기 위해 필요한 점은 무엇인지 알아보고자 했다. 이를 위해 이 연구는 B 지역 5개 고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 AI에 대한 이해 및 현황, AI 학습에 대한 인식, AI 활용에 대한 인식, 그리고 AI 역할에 대한 인식을 설문조사 하였고, 272부를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 고등학생들은 AI는 내 삶에 필요하다는 인식이 높았으나, AI에 대해 배우기를 원한다는 흥미도는 낮았다. AI 활용 콘텐츠 제작 교육에 대한 필요성은 높았지만, AI를 진로 선택에 활용하는 것에는 부정적인 인식이 있었다. 교사의 AI 활용에 대한 긍정적 평가와 AI 활용이 학습, 생활, 협력, 사회 소통 방식을 변화시키는데 유용하다는 인식이 강조되었다. AI는 인간의 삶에 필요하고 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 인식되었으나, 인간의 직업에 미칠 영향에 대한 부정적인 인식이 일부 나타났다. 결과적으로, 고등학생들은 AI에 대한 이해는 보통 수준이라고 생각했으나 학습과 진로 선택에 있어서는 부정적인 면이 드러났다. 이는 입시 중심의 학교 교육과 함께 AI에 대한 교육이 제대로 이뤄지지 못했기 때문으로 추정된다. 이러한 결과는 학교 교육과 입시에서 AI를 활용하고, 진로 체험 교육 등에서 그 의미를 부여하는 교육 활동이 필요하다는 점을 시사한다.

영문 초록

In this study, we aimed to understand how high school students perceive artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of the influence of AI. We sought to identify what is necessary for the proper implementation of AI education. To achieve this, the study conducted surveys targeting students from five high schools in Region B. The surveys covered their understanding and awareness of AI, perceptions of AI learning, awareness of AI applications, and recognition of the role of AI. A total of 272 respondents were analyzed. Survey results revealed that high school students generally recognized the importance of AI in their lives, however, their interest in learning about AI was relatively low. While there was a high perceived need for education on creating AI application content, there was a negative perception towards utilizing AI in career choices. Although AI was perceived as necessary and having a positive impact on human life, some negative perceptions emerged regarding its influence on human employment. Ultimately, high school students considered their understanding of AI to be at a moderate level, but negative aspects were revealed concerning learning and career choices. This means that education on AI has not been properly integrated, the context of exam-focused school systems. Therefore, it is suggested that educational activities incorporating AI in school curricula as well as providing meaning to AI in career exploration education.
