국문 초록

수학적 창의성의 의미와 역할에 관한 관심이 증가하고 있지만, 일상 수업에서 이를 신장하기 위한 구체적이고 보편적인 교수 전략에 관한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 수학 교수-학습의 핵심 요소로 꼽히는 수학적 의사소통에 주목하였다. 수학적 창의성의 발현 과정에서 나타난 수학적 의사소통 패턴을 분석하여, 수학적 의사소통을 활용한 수학적 창의성의 촉진 가능성을 모색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 한 중학교 경력교사가 수학적 창의성을 고려해 진행한 문제해결 일상 수업 사례를 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유창성 발현된 수학적 의사소통에서는 다양한 해법이 활발히 공유되고 간단한 설명하기가 후속되는 패턴이 나타났다. 둘째, 정교성이 발현된 수학적 의사소통에서는 해법에 대한 정당화가 요구되고 상세한 설명하기가 후속되는 패턴이 나타났다. 셋째, 독창성, 유연성이 발현된 수학적 의사소통에서는 다양한 해법이 활발히 공유되고 각각에 대한 정당화와 상세한 설명하기가 후속되는 패턴이 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 문제해결 일상 수업에서 수학적 창의성을 촉진하기 위한 수학적 의사소통에 관한 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Interest in the meaning and role of mathematical creativity is increasing, but there is a lack of research on concrete and universal teaching strategies to promote it in everyday classes. Thus, this study noted mathematical communication, which is considered a key element of mathematics teaching and learning. By analyzing the mathematical communication patterns shown in the expression process of mathematical creativity, we are going to explore the possibility of promoting mathematical creativity by utilizing mathematical communication based on the patterns. To this end, we analyzed the case of problem-solving everyday classes conducted in consideration of mathematical creativity by a middle school experienced teacher. The analysis results are as follows. First, in the mathematical communication in which fluency is expressed, a pattern emerged in which various solutions were actively shared and simple explanations followed. Second, in the mathematical communication pattern in which elaboration is expressed, a pattern emerged that required justification for the solution and detailed explanation followed. Third, in the mathematical communication in which originality or flexibility were expressed, a pattern emerged in which various solutions were actively shared and justification and detailed explanation of each followed. Based on this, Implications on mathematical communication to promote mathematical creativity in the problem-solving everyday class were presented.
