국문 초록

본 연구는 뉴질랜드 수학과 교육과정을 전반적으로 분석함으로써 이후 교육과정 개선과 관련된 시사점을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 뉴질랜드 교육과정의 문서 체제, 수학과 목표, 교과목의 체계와 영역의 구성, 핵심역량, 성취기준, 교수‧학습 및 평가 등을 우리나라의 2015 개정 수학과 교육과정과 비교 분석하였다. 분석한 결과, 첫째 뉴질랜드 교육과정에서는 교과 목표, 영역의 구성, 성취기준 전반에서 통계학을 강조하고 있다. 둘째, 뉴질랜드는 총론 차원에서 제시한 다섯 가지의 핵심역량이 수학 교과 학습을 통해 함양될 수 있도록 다양한 자료를 지원하고 있다. 셋째, 뉴질랜드 교육과정의 성취기준을 살펴보면 하나의 수학 내용을 여러 수준에 걸쳐서 심화해가는 경향이 강하다. 넷째, 뉴질랜드는 교육과정을 대강화하여 제시하지만 국가 규준을 통해 학년말에 학생이 도달해야 하는 수준에 대해 구체적으로 안내하고 있다. 마지막으로 뉴질랜드는 국가 교육과정을 문서로 제공할 뿐 아니라, 웹자료로 구현함으로써 교육과정에 대한 활용도 및 이해도를 제고하고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the New Zealand Mathematics curriculum and to draw implications for the improvement of the curriculum. To this end, the New Zealand curriculum's document system, mathematics goals, the composition of curriculum and area, key competencies, achievement objects, teaching and learning and evaluation were compared with Korea's 2015 revised mathematics curriculum. As a result, New Zealand curriculum emphasizes statistics across mathematics goals, domain composition and achievement objects. Second, New Zealand supports a wide range of resources to help five key competencies be developed through mathematics curriculum. Third, looking at the achievement objects of the New Zealand curriculum, there is a strong tendency to deepen a single mathematics content at multiple levels. Fourth, New Zealand offers a broad curriculum, but national standards provide specific guidance on the level students should reach at the end of the school year. Finally, New Zealand not only provides the national curriculum in writing, but also implements it as a web-based material to improve the utilization and understanding of the curriculum.
