영문 초록

The Song Dynasty is the time when diaries were established as a writing method in China. However, examining at the diary at the time as compared with the current standard, the nature of public writing and the nature of private writing were mixed, and also, it seems to be ambiguous to classify it as literary writing or to prescribe it as historical writing. Due to this ambiguity, research on diaries of the Song Dynasty has yet to reach the rudimentary stage, and to this day, its value has not been properly illuminated. Therefore, clarifying the boundaries and characteristics of diaries of the Song Dynasty, which is like a tangled thread, may have a great meaning in itself, and afterwards, it will contribute more than a certain step to establishing a support base for Chinese diary literature research leading to Ming‐Qing dynasties and modern and present ages. In addition, it is expected to play a mutual role not only in research within China, but also in research of Korean diary literature, which has been in close relationship with China since ancient times. After reviewing how to be able to define the writing of diaries, that is, whether the Song Dynasty diary has all of its characteristics, this study attempted to explore the general contents by classifying diaries of the Song Dynasty by type. Also, after looking at the significance that the Song Dynasty diary might have, this study has put an effort on how to utilize it in the academic and teaching fields, respectively.
