현대 패션에 나타난 어글리 시크(Ugly Chic)에 관한 연구 ╶ 구찌와 발렌시아가의 컬렉션을 중심으로╶

국문 초록

최근 패션 트렌드 키워드로 이슈화되고 있는 어글리 시크의 개념을 정의하고 현대 패션에 나타난 어글리 시크의 표현적 특성을 규명하고자 하였다. 문헌 연구를 통해현대적 추를 고찰하고 이를 토대로 어글리 시크의 개념을 정의하였다. 사례연구를 위한 범위는 최근 3년간의구찌와 발렌시아가의 컬렉션으로 한정하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 어글리 시크는 사회적 고정관념에 대한 거부가 아름다움에 대한 관습적 형식의 부정과 외모에대한 무관심으로 나타난 양식이다. 구찌와 발렌시아가컬렉션에 나타난 어글리 시크의 표현을 분석한 결과는다음과 같다. 첫째, 어글리 시크의 부정성은 인체 형태나의복의 구성 법칙을 거부하고 실루엣의 단순화로 나타났다. 둘째, 패턴과 색 조합의 부정성은 이질적 속성의 패턴이나 소재의 매치, 강한 색 대비에 의한 비연결적 특성을 나타냈다. 셋째, 모티브의 부정성은 소재의 원천과표현, 상반되는 요소의 병치에 의한 모순성을 나타냈다. 넷째, 어글리 시크의 부정성은 착장 방식의 전환과 아이템의 이종결합에 의한 탈 경계성을 나타냈다.

영문 초록

This study aims to investigate the concept of ugly chic, an issue of fashion trend keyword and analysis the expressive characteristic of ugly chic in contemporary fashion. The result of literature review was ugly chic is defined as a mode expressed as the negation of social stereotypes and a form expressed as indifference to appearance against the conventional form of beauty. The results of the analysis of the expression of ugly chic, limited to the collections of Gucci and Balenciaga in recent three years are as follows. First, ugly chic expressed in the collections show a simplification of the silhouette by rejecting the constitutional form of human body. Second, the negativity of pattern and color combination shows connectless characteristic by the pattern of heterogeneous property and, juxtaposition of material, and contrast of strong hue. Third, the negativity of the motif shows the contradiction due to the origin and expression of the theme. Fourth, it shows the transition of the styling way and the borderless by the combination or the modulation of the items.
