국문 초록

이 연구는 예비교사들이 인식하는 국어교사 전문성의 요소가 무엇이며, 그것의 교사임용시험 반영에 대한 인식은 어떠한지, 또 이를 바탕으로 국어교사 전문성을 갖춘 국어교사 선발을 위한 교사임용시험의 개선 방향은 어떠해야 하는지에 대한 인식을 조사하려는 목적의 글이다. 이를 위해, 예비교사 81명을 대상으로 설문지를 통한 조사 연구를 하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 예비교사 자신들은 국어교사 전문성을 지닌 것에 대해 크게 긍정하지는 않았다. 교사임용시험에는 ‘수업과 평가’에 대한 지식과 기능이 다른 요소에 비해 반영 정도가 약하다고 보았다. 연구자는 이에 대해, 예비교사가 대학에서 정상적인 교육과정을 이수했음에도 불구하고 국어교사 전문성에 대한 인식이 부족하다면, 국가 차원의 제도적 측면의 변화를 고려해야 한다고 보았다. 또, ‘수업실연’을 강조하는 최근의 교사임용시험은 바람직하다 보면서도 교사 양성 과정에서 더 내실 있는 ‘수업실연’ 교육이 이뤄져야 한다고 보았다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the perceptions of prospective teachers regarding what constitutes Korean language teacher professionalism, how such elements are accounted for in the teacher appointment examination, and how the examination should be improved to appoint more professional Korean language teachers. For this purpose, 81 prospective teachers were asked to participate in a survey. The results show that prospective teachers felt less positive about their professionalism as Korean language teachers. The survey revealed that knowledge and functions related to “teaching and evaluation” were not as well reflected in the teacher appointment examination compared to other factors. If prospective teachers regard themselves as lacking professionalism as Korean language teachers even after completing the university curriculum, institutional changes should be considered at the national level. While the recent emphasis on teaching demonstration is desirable, more substantial training on teaching demonstration should be provided in teacher training courses.
