탈북 학생의 국어과 학업성취도 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 2011년 초6, 중3, 고2 국어과 국가수준 학업성취도 평가 결과를 바탕으로, 탈북 학생과 전체 학생의 국어과 학업성취도를 비교·분석하였다. 그 결과, 탈북 학생은 전체 학생에 비해 우수학력의 비율이 현저히 낮고, 기초학력의 비율은 2~3배 이상 높으며, 기초학력 미달의 비율은 7~8배 이상 높았다. 문항별 반응 결과, 변별도가 높은 문항이 탈북 학생에게 더 많은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 한 문항을 제외한 모든 문항에서 탈북 학생의 정답률이 전체 학생보다 낮았으며, 정답률 차이는 학교급이 올라갈수록 커졌다. 모어 화자의 직관으로 풀이할 수 있는 한 문항에서 탈북 학생의 정답률이 전체 학생보다 높게 나타났다. 또한 학교급별 두 집단 간 정답률 차이가 가장 큰 문항을 검토한 결과, 탈북 학생들은 남북한 교육 내용이 상이한 문장 성분을 묻는 문항, ‘여성의 정치 참여’와 같이 배경지식이 부족한 문항, 답지의 진술 방식이 달라서 혼동을 주는 문항, 익숙하지 않은 소재의 글이면서 복잡한 형태로 구성된 문항에서 크게 어려움을 겪은 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the differences in academic achievement between students from North Korea and general students. This study analyzes these differences based on the results from 2011 NAEA Korean at grades 6, 9, and 11. The results are as follows-overall, students from North Korea achieved far lower than general students. The correct answer rate of students from North Korea was lower than that of general students in every test item, with only one exception. Furthermore, the difference in the correct answer rate gets bigger as the grades get higher. Students from North Korea did record a higher correct answer rate in one test item which requires Korean natives’ intuition to spoken language. Other than this item, they record lower rate. Furthermore, they recorded a far lower correct answer rate in the test items which require knowledge on grammar differently taught in North Korea. They recorded the lowest correct answer rates with unfamiliar test item types. They also had difficulty in reading texts with unfamiliar concepts to them like, for example, the participation of women in politics.
