국문 초록

‘창녕 교동과 송현동 고분군’은 삼국시대 창녕지역을 대표하는 유력 정치체의 무덤 중 한 곳이다. 도굴의 피해를 입지 않은 창녕 교동 63호분의 등장은 고무적인 발견이었다. 63호분 발굴조사는 2019년부터 본격적으로 진행되었다. 조사 결과, 창녕지역 고분에서 보이지 않던 주곽과 순장곽으로 이루어진 다곽식 구조, 2중의 배수시설, 북단벽 바깥에 나란히 놓인 장대석과 제사흔적, 수혈 등 여러 시설과 장송의례흔적을 확인하였다. 63호분에서는 경사진 위치에 주곽 중심으로여러 시설을 함께 구축한 계획성과 동시성이 확인되며, 주곽 내·외부에서는 장식성, 차별성, 종속성도 확인된다. 이는 고대 무덤축조와 장송의례의 일면을 파악하는 주요한 성과이며 일련의 매장프로세스를 이해할 수 있는 주요한 자료라 할 수 있다. 그리고 무덤 주인공의 신분을 짐작할만한 화려한 유물의 출토와 처음으로 소개되는 유물 등은 당시 생활상을 유추하는 결정적 자료라고할 수 있다. 매장프로세스는 보수성이 강하고 축조집단의 변동 없이는 설명하기 어렵다. 의례의 공유가 이념적 연대를 바탕으로 이루어진다는 입장에서 본다면 이번 조사를 통해 확인된 순장 다곽묘, 횡구식 묘제의 변용, 다양한 장송의례 등은 비화가야 묘제 가운데서도 독특한 요소라할 수 있다. 횡구식 묘제의 발전은 창녕지역의 독특한 지역문화를 대변하는 것이지만 그럼에도 불구하고고분에서 출토된 신라양식의 금동관, 마구류 등 유물에서 보여지는 신라적인 요소는 간과할 수없는 사실이다. 이에 대해 여러 관점에서 이해할 수 있겠지만 묘제의 보수성이라는 측면에서 생각해보면 창녕지역의 문화가 개방적이고 탄력적인 수용 자세를 보였다고 이해된다. 본고는 교동 63호분에서 확인된 유구를 살펴보고 현재까지 밝혀진 창녕지역 고분에서 볼 수없었던 새로운 구조와 축조 과정을 정리하여 밝히는데 초점을 맞추었다. 주피장자의 성격이나위계, 장송의례의 주요 과정 등 비화가야 고분문화의 양상은 향후 유물에 대한 정리 및 복원 작업과 함께 연구하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The Tombs of Changnyeong Gyo-dong and Songhyeon-dong are one of the tombs of leading political figures representing the Changnyeong area during the Three Kingdoms Period. The appearance of Changnyeong Gyo-dong No. 63, which was not damaged by the robbery, was an encouraging discovery. The excavation survey for No. 63 has been conducted in earnest since 2019. As a result of the investigation, various facilities and traces of ancestral rites were identified, including the Multiple stone-lined tombs structure consisting of maim tomb and sacrificed burial, double drainage facilities, the big stone and ritual marks placed side by side outside the northern wall, and presumptive ritual transfusion. In No. 63, the planning and concurrency of building several facilities together around the main building at the inclined location are confirmed, and decorative, forced, differential, and dependency are also confirmed inside and outside the main building. This is a major achievement in grasping one aspect of ancient tomb construction and faneral ritual, and it can be said to be a major data for understanding a series of burial processes. In addition, the excavation of colorful relics that can guess the identity of the tomb's main character and the relics introduced for the first time can be said to be decisive data that infers the life of the time. The burial process is highly conservative and difficult to explain without changes in the construction group. From the perspective that the sharing of rituals is based on ideological solidarity, the pure funeral Multiple stone-lined tombs, the transformation of horizontal entrance style tombs, and various listing rituals confirmed through this survey are unique elements seen in Bi-hwa gaya tombs. The development of horizontal entrance style tombs represents the unique local culture of the Changnyeong area, but nevertheless, the Silla-style elements shown in relics such as Gilt-bronze coffin excavated from ancient tombs and Silla-style earthenware cannot be overlooked. Although this can be understood from various perspectives, it is understood that the culture of the Changnyeong area showed an open and flexible attitude of acceptance from the perspective of the conservatism of the tomb. This paper focused on examining the construction process of No. 63 and organizing and revealing new structures and contents that have not been found in the ancient tombs in Changnyeong area that have been revealed so far. The aspects of Bi-hwa Gaya Ancient Tomb Culture, such as the nature, hierarchy, and the main process of listing rituals, will be studied along with the organization and restoration of relics in the future.
