이형 석도 4종의 사용흔 분석

국문 초록

필자는 최근까지 특이한 형태의 석도들을 대상으로 사용흔 분석을 시도한 바 있다. 복원된 사용방식은 기존의 연구 성과와 대체로 유사하지만, 다양한 석도 형식의 제작 및 사용 이력이나 일부다른 용도를 추정할 수 있었다. 본고는 이와 같은 분석의 연장선상에서 작성되었는데, 대상은 배부돌출석도, 상하 4공석도, 찰절천공석도, 재가공 삼각형석도의 4종으로 모두 분석이 시도된 바없는 새로운 형식들이다. 분석 결과 사용 방법은 중지에 끈을 연결하여 석도를 잡은 다음 엄지로벼과식물을 석도에 밀착시키고 검지로 누르면서 손목을 비틀어 이삭을 따는 방식이 상정되었다. 이는 기존의 연구 결과를 다시 한 번 확인하는 것으로 특별히 새로운 관점이라 할 수 없다. 다만특이한 형식의 석도들이 예상과 달리 일반적인 석도와 크게 다르지 않은 방식으로 사용된다는점은 나름의 의미를 가진다. 또, 신고 유물의 진품 여부 확인, 제작·파손·재가공·사용과 관련된 개별 석도 각각의 이력을 복원할 수 있었다는 점에도 의미를 두고 싶다.

영문 초록

Until recently, the author has been attempting use-wear analysis on atypical forms of stone knives. Although the reconstructed uses are largely the same as in previous research results, I have been able to infer the production and use history of various stone knife forms and other uses. This paper was prepared as an extension of such analysis and covers four types of stone knives: back protruding stone knives, upper and lower four-hole stone knives, rubbed and perforated stone knives and reworked triangular stone knives, for which no analysis has been attempted. The analysis showed that the method of use was assumed to be to turn the string around the middle finger, grip the stone knife body, hold the rice straw close to the stone knife with the thumb, and twist the wrist while pushing with the index finger to remove the ear. This is not a particularly new perspective, as it confirms once again the results of existing research. However, the fact that unusual forms of stone knife were used in manners do not differ significantly from common stone knives is of some significance. It is also significant that we were able to confirm the authenticity of the declared artefacts and to recover the history of each individual stone knife in relation to its production, breakage, reworking and use.
