홈스쿨링 청소년의 진로정체감 형성과정에 대한 생애사 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 홈스쿨링을 한 청소년의 진로정체감 형성과정을 생애사 연구로 심층적으로 알아보고자 하였다. 구체적인 연구문제는 홈스쿨링 청소년은 삶의 과정에서 진로정체감 형성과정을 살펴보며, 이와 더불어 진로정체감을 형성하는 과정에서 겪는 삶의 전환점을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 11세부터 8년간 홈스쿨링을 한 청소년을 대상으로 2022년 8월부터 3차례 심층면담을 통하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집한 자료는 Mandelbaum의 생애사 분석 틀을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 연구참여자의 삶의 영역은 ‘가족적 삶의 영역- 짱이네 가족과 진로 발달에서의 환상기’, ‘제도 안의 삶의 영역- 짱이에게 학교란(학교의 의미가 없었던 이유)과 진로 발달에서의 장정기1’, ‘홈스쿨링의 삶의 영역-홈스쿨링을 통해 스스로 자신을 발견해 가는 짱이와 진로 발달에서의 장정기2’이다. 삶의 전환점은 ‘롤 모델과의 만남-동경하던 롤 모델과의 수업과 진로 발달에서의 현실기 1: 의사가 되기 위해 다시 제도권 교육으로’이다. 적응 방법은 ‘위기를 기회로-입시학원에서 알게 된 성적의 실체와 긍정적인 생각으로의 전향’과 ‘자기와의 싸움-진로 발달에서의 현실기 2: 자신에게 더 엄격하기’, ‘오뚜기처럼 다시 일어서기-입시학원 떠나 다시 도전하기’로 분석되었다. 결론 부분에서는 홈스쿨링을 한 청소년이 진로정체감 형성과정에서 필요한 의견들을 제안하였다. 또한 이 연구의 한계점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate in-depth the process of forming career identity of adolescents who were homeschooled in a life history study. The specific research agenda is to look at the process of forming career identity in the course of life for homeschooled adolescents, and to look at the turning points in life in the process of forming career identity. To this end, data were collected through three in-depth interviews from August 2022 for adolescents who had homeschooling for eight years from the age of 11. The collected data were analyzed using Mandelbaum’s life history analysis framework. As a result of the analysis, the study participants’ areas of life are defined as “Family Life Area - Fantasy in Career Development with Jjangi’s Family,” “School in the System - Why Jjangi could not find meaning in school 1,” and “Jjangi and Jangjeonggi 2 in Career Development” who discover themselves through homeschooling. The turning point in life is ‘Meeting a role model - Real life in class with a role model and career development 1: Back to institutional education to become a doctor’. The adaptation methods were analyzed as “the crisis is an opportunity- turning the grades in classrooms into reality and positive thoughts learned at the cram school,” “fight with oneself-reality in career development 2: being stricter with oneself,” and “standing again like a Ottogi-leaving the cram school and beginning a journey of new challenge.” In the conclusion section, opinions were suggested on what is necessary for teenagers who were homeschooled in the process of forming career identity and the limitations of this study were presented.
