국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 도심에서 일반화되어 있는 주거 형태인 아파트단지의 인공호수 공간을 대상으로 안전이 확보되고 유지 보수가 가능한 유리 조형물을 제시하고자 한다. 미술시장 전반에 관련된 자료집을 발간해온 예술경영지원센터의 공공미술 분야 통계자료에 의하면 건축물 미술 작품의 75%가량이 야외 설치를 목적으로 하는 조각 작업이었다. 이 가운데 90%가량이 스테인리스스틸(stainless steel), 돌, 청동을 사용하여 제작되었고 나머지 또한 알루미늄과 같은 비철금속과 위 소재들과 융합하여 사용한 것이 다수인 것으로 파악됐다. 하지만 회색의 콘크리트 건물과 아파트로 뒤덮인 획일적인 도시에 개성과 활기를 불어넣기 위해서는 보다 다양한 소재, 기법, 형태로 제작된 조형물이 제공될 필요가 있다고 본다. 유리는 물, 토양 등에 부정적 영향을 끼치지 않는 친환경적인 소재이다. 또한 투명한 재료적 특성은 큰 규모의 조형물로 인해 거주민들이 시각적으로 느낄 수 있는 중압감이나 답답함을 해소하는데 이점을 갖고 있어 환경조형물의 좋은 소재가 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 공동주택단지 수변공간에 적합한 유리 조형물을 제시함으로써 도시환경 개선과 환경조형물의 다양화에 기여하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to present safe and maintainable glass sculptures for artificial lake spaces in apartment complexes, which are common residential forms in downtown Korea. According to statistics from the public art field of the Korea Arts Management Service, which has published a collection of materials related to the overall art market, about 75% of the architectural art works were sculptural works aimed at outdoor installation. About 90% of them were made of stainless steel, stone, and bronze, and most of them were fused with non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and above materials. However, in order to revitalize the uniform city covered with gray concrete buildings and apartments, sculptures made of more diverse materials, techniques, and forms need to be provided. Glass is an eco-friendly material that does not negatively affect water and soil. In addition, the transparent material characteristic has the advantage of relieving the pressure or frustration that residents can visually feel due to large-scale sculptures, which can be a good material for environmental sculptures. This study aims to contribute to the improvement of the urban environment and the diversification of environmental sculptures by presenting glass sculptures suitable for the waterfront space of apartment complexes.
