국문 초록

인류는 산업화를 기점으로 지구의 자원을 사용해 왔다. 기술의 발전이 인간의 삶을 더 편리하고 쾌적하게 만들어 주었지만, 산업화로 인한 부작용으로 환경 오염 문제는 외면되어 왔다. 그러나 최근 환경을 생각하는 흐름은 에코소브레(Ecosobre)처럼 친환경적 의미를 담은 합성어가 생겨날 정도로 물질에 대한 다양한 정책으로 친환경에 집중하고 있다. 본 연구는 생태학 관점에서 환경친화적인 물질을 기반으로 하는 생태적 디자인에 대해 살펴보았다. 친환경적인 물질을 개발하고, 자연에서 영감을 얻은 재료에서 소재를 추출하여 그 변화에 따른 프로세스로 하나의 조형물을 제작하는 네리 옥스만의 작업을 중심으로 조사하였다. 또한, 환경 오염과 생태계의 악영향으로 지적되고 있는 플라스틱을 생분해하기 위해 고안된 바이오 플라스틱이라는 소재를 바탕으로 새롭게 개발된 디자인 제품에 대해서 알아보고자 한다. 네리 옥스만의 작업은 자연생태학에서 비롯되었지만, 물질 표현의 변화로 형성된 개념은 디지털 디자인 · 디지털 기술 · 재료공학 · 합성 생물학 등의 복합적 사고에 바탕을 두고 있다. 본 연구는 그의 작업을 중심으로 끝없는 자연의 순환 속에서 물질과 디자인의 생태적 접근을 통해 예술과 과학을 융합한 물질 기반 표현 방식에 따른 조형 표현의 다양성을 알리는 데 목적이 있다.

영문 초록

Mankind has used the resources of the earth since industrialization. The development of technology has made human life more convenient and comfortable, but the problem of environmental pollution has been neglected due to the side effects of industrialization. Recently, however, the trend toward the environment has focused on eco-friendly policies such as eco-sobre, which has various policies on materials, to the extent that complex words with eco-friendly meanings are created. In This study, ecological design based on eco-friendly materials was considered from an ecological perspective. The research focused on Neri-Oxman's development of eco-friendly materials, extracting materials from natural materials, and creating a single sculpture through the process of change. Also, I would like to investigate newly developed design products based on materials called bio-plastics designed to biodegrade plastics that are pointed out to be environmentally harmful and harmful to ecosystems. Although Neri-Oxman's work originated in natural ecology, concepts formed by changes in material expression are based on complex thinking such as digital design, digital technology, material engineering, and synthetic biology. The purpose is to promote diversity of representation of shapes and shapes through material-based expression methods that combine art and science through an ecological approach of matter and design in an infinite cycle of nature.
