국문 초록

2002년 중국은 국가광파전영전시총국(國家廣播電影電視總局)에서 10차 5개년 애니메이션 발전계획 (影視動畫業“十五”期間發展規劃)1)을 통해 애니메이션에 대한 적극적인 지원 의지를 표명한후, 디지털 시대의 발전에 발맞추어 다양한 가능성을 모색하고 있다. 특히 중국 전통 문화를 바탕으로 한 영상콘텐츠의 개발이 다양하게 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 취지에 힘입어 제작된 <나타지마동강세> <신신방: 나타중생>의 ‘나타’ 캐릭터에서 발견되는 현대 중국의 사회문화적 특성들을 비교 분석하고자 한다. 나아가 전통문화를 바탕으로 한 대중문화상품으로서 현대 중국 애니메이션의 가능성과 새로운 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 연구결과 전통서사를 바탕으로 한 현대 중국의 애니메이션 <나타지마동강세> <신신방: 나타중생>는 사회적, 가족적, 개인적 중국 사회의 이데올로기의 변화를 표현하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 특히 주인공 ‘나타’의 캐릭터를 통해 직접적으로 표출되고 있었다. 중국 고전을 기반으로 한 대중문화 상품들은 중국 전통 문화에 대한 새로운 시각을 제공함으로써 중국 문화 산업 발전에 중요한 역할을 할 것이라 기대한다.

영문 초록

In 2002, China’s National Radio and Television Administration formulated The Development Planning of the Film, Television, and Animation Industries During the 10th Five-Year Plan to actively support the animation industry’s development. Under this policy, the animation industry has adjusted to the development of the digital age and explored multifaceted development possibilities. In particular, there have been diverse and numerous film, television, and animation works drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese culture. This research compares and analyzes contemporary China’s social and cultural features revealed by the role of “Nezha” in the films “Nezha: Birth of the Demon Child” and “New Gods: Nezha Reborn” produced with the above idea. In addition, this paper will explore the possibilities and new schemes of Chinese animations as popular cultural commodities based on traditional Chinese culture. Research results show that modern Chinese animations “Nezha: Birth of the Demon Child” and “New Gods: Nezha Reborn” based on traditional narratives display the changes in social, family, and individual ideologies. In particular, these have been intuitively reflected in Nezha, the protagonist role. It is hoped that in the future, popular cultural commodities based on Chinese classical works will be new perspectives for the development of traditional Chinese culture and play a vital role in China’s cultural industry.
