국문 초록

인간의 라이프스타일은 과거부터 현재까지 다양한 방식으로 바뀌고 있다. 가구 또한 그에 발맞춰 변화하고 있으며 하이브리드라는 개념이 가구디자인에 접목되어 점진적으로 발전하고 있다. 연구자는 가구디자인 분야에서도 하이브리드 관련 산업이나 소비자의 반응, 선호도 등을 바탕으로 가구디자인이 인간의 라이프스타일과 사회문화에 따라 단일 목적보다 하이브리드 기능을 갖추었을 때 환경적, 공간적, 경제적, 심미적, 감성적인 부분에서 어떤 역할을 하고 영향을 주는지 연구하고자 한다. 또한, 가구의 기능적인 측면에서 하이브리드의 융·복합적인 특징을 추적하여 사례조사를 통한 연구 분석 후 정리하고자 한다. 본 연구는 선행연구, 관련 문헌, 기사 등을 통해 하이브리드 디자인의 이론을 고찰하고 가구의 기능적 융·복합디자인 사례 중심으로 조사 범위를 설정했다. 실내 가구를 중심으로 가정이나 사무용 가구 중 침대, 테이블, 의자, 수납 가구 등 사용빈도가 높은 가구의 종류로 범위를 정했다. 해외 및 국내 가구디자이너의 작품, 국내인지도 및 선호도 판매수익이 상위권인 브랜드의 상업 가구, 온라인 자료 등을 통해 조사 후 연구했다. 이 연구를 통해 가구디자인에서도 두 가지 이상의 기능이 융·복합된 하이브리드 성향을 보이는 가구의 양상을 연구하고 정리 분석하여 상업적, 디자인적, 학문적으로 재정리함에 의의를 둔다. 또한, 가구디자이너, 작가, 가구 관련 업체, 후속 연구자의 하이브리드 특성이 반영된 디자인의 참고자료가 되길 기대한다.

영문 초록

Human lifestyles are changing in diverse ways from the past to the present. Furniture is also transforming in line with such alteration, and the concept of hybrid is being gradually incorporated into furniture design and developing. Researchers further work in the field of furniture design based on hybrid-related industries and consumer reactions and preferences. Hence, this study aims to study the role and influence of furniture design in environmental, spatial, economic, aesthetic and emotional aspects when it has a hybrid function rather than a single purpose according to human lifestyle and social culture. Moreover, it intends to track the hybrid convergence characteristics in the functional aspect of households and organize them after analysis through case studies. This study examines the theory of hybrid design through previous studies, related literature, and articles. Subsequently, the scope of the investigation is set focusing on the functional convergence and complex design cases of furniture. Emphasizing indoor furniture, the range was determined by the types of furniture that are frequently used, such as beds, tables, chairs, and storage furniture, among home and office furniture. We researched and studied the works of foreign and domestic furniture designers, commercial furniture of brands with the highest domestic recognition and preferred sales revenue, and online data. This study is meaningful in that it organizes and analyzes the aspects of furniture that exhibit a hybrid tendency in which two or more functions are convergence in furniture design, and to rearrange them commercially, designally and academically. Furthermore, the study will serve as a reference material for designs reflecting the hybrid characteristics of furniture designers, writers, furniture-related companies, and subsequent researchers.
