젠더 교육프로그램이 간호대학생의 젠더 감수성에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

남성과 여성이 건강한 성장과 조화로운 발전을 이루기 위해 서로의 차이를 인정하면서도 공존하여 살아갈 수 있는 평등한 사회적 관계 형성 능력을 배양할 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 시대적 요구에 따라 일상에서 일어나는 다양한 젠더 이슈를 민감하게 감지하고 불합리한 상황을 개선하기 위해 노력할 수 있는 젠더 감수성 교육 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 간호대학생을 대상으로 젠더 교육프로그램이 그들의 젠더 감수성에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 ‘인간과 성’ 교과목 내용의 일부로 젠더에 대한 이해, 성평등에 대한 이해, 젠더 관련 사회적 이슈 및 자기성찰을 포함하는 8회기로 구성된 프로그램을 구성하였다. 이 프로그램은 D시에 소재한 대학의 간호대학생을 대상으로 2021년 9월 7일부터 11월 2일까지 실시하였다. 프로그램은 수강생 전체에게 제공하였고, 수강생 중 연구 참여를 희망하는 학생 60명을 대상으로 프로그램 적용 전·후 젠더 감수성 변화를 조사하여 프로그램의 효과를 검증하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS Win 28.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, paired t-test, ANCOVA를 이용하여 분석하였다. 젠더 교육프로그램을 적용한 결과 젠더 감수성 향상에 유의한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났고(t=-4.89, p<.001). 하위요인별로 성역할 고정관념에 대한 인식(t=-2.29, p=0.025), 성폭력에 대한 인식(t=-3.26, p<.001), 성차별에 대한 인식(t=-5.65, p<.001) 모두에서 유의미한 효과를 보였다. 한편, 프로그램 적용 전 여학생과 남학생의 젠더 감수성(t=-3.56, p<.001), 성역할 고정관념에 대한 인식(t=-2.44, p=0.018), 성폭력에 대한 인식(t=-1.89, p=.032), 성차별에 대한 인식(t=-3.80, p<.001) 모두에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 성별에 따른 프로그램 적용의 효과를 검증하기 위해 사전 젠더 감수성 점수를 통제한 후 프로그램 적용 후 젠더 감수성의 차이를 검증한 결과 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다(F=1.89, p=.174). 이에 본 연구에서 개발한 프로그램이 남녀 간호대학생 모두의 젠더 감수성 향상에 효과적인 프로그램임을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 젠더 교육프로그램이 간호대학생의 젠더 감수성 향상에 미치는 효과를 검증함으로써 간호교육에서 적용할 수 있는 젠더 교육프로그램의 방향을 제시하는 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 본 프로그램이 간호대학생의 성평등 의식과 젠더 감수성 향상에 미치는 효과를 확인한바 인간을 대상으로 하는 간호학문의 특성을 고려하여 젠더 교육프로그램을 교육과정에 포함하여 운영함으로써 간호대학생의 성평등 의식을 제고하고 건전한 성문화 확산에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

For men and women to achieve healthy growth and harmonious development, it is necessary to cultivate the ability to form an equal social relationship that allows them to coexist while acknowledging the differences between men and women. According to the needs of the times, the need for sexuality education that can sensitively detect various gender issues occurring in daily life and strive to improve unreasonable situations. Therefore, this study was conducted to verify the effect of gender-based sexuality education program on gender sensitivity for nursing students. To this end, a gender-based sexuality education program consisting of eight sessions as part of the ‘Human and Gender’ curriculum was composed. This program includes an understanding of gender, understanding of gender equality, gender-related social issues, and self-reflection. This program was conducted from September 7 to November 2, 2021, for nursing students at university in D city. It was provided to all students and the effect of this program was investigated for 60 students who agreed to participate in this study and evaluated by an online survey was conducted before and after the program. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, paired t-test, and ANCOVA using SPSS Win 28.0 program. As a result of the implementation of the gender-based sexuality education program, it was found that there was a significant effect on the improvement of gender sensitivity(t=-4.89, p<.001). For each sub-factor, perception of gender role stereotypes (t=-2.29, p=.025), perception of sexual violence (t=-3.26, p<.001), perception of gender discrimination (t=-5.65, p< .001) showed a significant effect in all. And there was a significant difference in the gender sensitivities(t=-3.56, p<.001) of female and male students before the program's application. In the other hand, before the implementation of the program, the gender sensitivity (t=-3.56, p<.001), the perception of gender role stereotypes (t=-2.44, p=.018), and the perception of sexual violence (t=-1.89, p=.032), and gender discrimination perception (t=-3.80, p<.001) showed statistically significant differences by gender. In order to verify the effect of program application according to gender, pre-gender sensitivity scores were controlled and the difference in gender sensitivity after program application was verified. As a result, there was no significant difference (F=1.89, p=.174). It was confirmed that the developed program was an effective program for improving the gender sensitivity of both male and female nursing students. This study tried to provide basic data to suggest the direction of a sexuality education that can be applied in nursing education by verifying the effect of the gender-based sexuality education program on improving the gender sensitivity of nursing students. The effect of this program on improving the gender sensitivity of nursing students was confirmed. Considering the characteristics of nursing studies targeting human beings, it is expected that by including it in the curriculum, it will be possible to raise the awareness of gender equality among nursing students and contribute to the spread of a healthy sexual culture.
