국문 초록

본 연구는 한국공예산업의 큰 흐름 속에서 짧은 역사에도 불구하고 공예시장의 확장과 다양화에 기여해 온 유리공예를 분석하고 지속적인 유리공예산업의 활성화를 위한 방안이 무엇인지 제시하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 한국공예디자인문화진흥원에서 배포한 2019공예산업실태조사 내용을 기반으로 유리 공방 및 관련 사업체현황 조사를 분석하였다. 특히 유리공방 사업체 설립의 경우 1980년대 이후 3.5%에서 1990년대 급격히 증가하였으며 2010년까지 31%로 성장하였다. 설립 지역은 서울, 경기, 인천 등 수도권이 55.2%, 전라, 광주 6.6%, 강원5.5%로 수도권이 유리산업 육성에서 가장 큰 비중을 차지하고 있다. 최근에 와서는 코로나 등의 여파로 유리공예산업의 전망이 매우 좋지 않을 것 같다(11.3%), 별로 좋지 않을 것 같다(59.1%), 예전과 비슷할 것 같다(23.5%), 다소 좋아질 것 같다(6%)로 나타나 부정적 시각이 대두되었다. 이를 해소하고 성장을 지속하기 위해서는 지역문화 특성에 맞는 맞춤 교육을 개발하고 수도권 공예프로그램 연계하여 지역 거점을 확보하는 노력이 필요하다고 본다. 본 연구를 위해 국내 최대규모인 공예트렌드페어에 참가한 작가 분석 및 작업의 재료, 용도, 형태 등 출품된 작품을 분석하여 최근 유행하는 장르와 유형을 제시하여 유리공예 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the glass craft which has contributed to the extension and diversity of the craft market, in spite of its short history in the wider picture of the Korean craft industry, and suggest what is the measure for activating the sustainable glass craft industry. To this end, it analyzed the research on glass workshops and related businesses, based on the results of the Craft Report Advanced Research 2019 distributed by the Korean Craft & Design Foundation. In particular, the rate of the establishment of glass workshops and businesses was 3.5% after 1980s, which was drastically grown in 1990s and increased up to 31% until 2010. It was 55.2% in the Metropolitan area including Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Incheon, etc.; 6.6% in Gwangju, Jeolla; and 5.5% in Gangwon, indicating that the Metropolitan area accounted for the highest portion of the cultivation of glass industry. The recent responses to the question about the prospect of the glass craft industry are follows: ‘the prospect of the glass craft industry is very discouraging due to the aftermath of COVID-19’(59.1%); ‘it may be similar to that expected in the past’(23.5%); ‘it may be somewhat improved’ (6%), suggesting that the negative outlook prevails. It seems to be necessary to make an effort to develop local culture-specific customized education and secure local bases in conjunction with craft programs operated in the Metropolitan area, in order to resolve such a negative outlook and realize its sustainable growth.
