국문 초록

이 논문은 1950년대 발간된 청소년 문예지인 『학원』 매체에 수록된 초기 사진시의 내포(connotation)성을 살펴본다. 한국전쟁 중 탄생한 『학원』 매체는 청소년 계몽을 위한 종합 문예지로서 문학과 더불어 독자층의 시선과 흥미를 자극할만한 시각적 요소인 사진을 배치함으로써 문학과 예술장르가 함께 어우러지는 기획 전략을 세웠다. 그 중에서도 시와 사진이 접목(椄木)된 형태로 나타난 사진시는 전쟁 이후 문학과 예술의 다양성을 추구하고자 하는 시도이면서도, 다른 외적 의도를 가진 결과물일 가능성도 배제할 수 없다. 1950년대 매체가 이념의 문제에서 자유로울 수 없었던 시대적 상황을 고려한다면, 사진시는 당대 정치적 권력과 무관하지 않았을 가능성이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 1950년대 발간된 『학원』에서 사진시가 담지 한 것이 무언이지 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 『학원』에서 사진시가 처음 등장하는 1954년도 이후부터 1957년도까지의 작품을 대상으로, 시와 사진이 장르적 혼합을 이루며 형성된 초기 작품을 주된 연구 대상으로 하였다. 그 결과, 1950년대 정치적 혼돈의 한 가운데서 탄생한 사진시는 사상·문화적 측면에서 누군가에게 ‘본보기’, ‘관점’을 제시하면서, 청소년의 문화를 통한 교육, 교훈의 긍정과 동원의 문제에 있어 오용된 부분이 있다. 이는 당시 미국 중심의 반공 냉전 질서체계를 따랐던 남한 사회의 정치적 노선은 대중매체에 다양한 영향력을 끼치고 있었고, 『학원』 매체에 수록된 작품도 이러한 사회적 현실에서 자유로울 수 없었음을 의미한다. 『학원』 매체는 한국 전쟁 이후 과도한 기술 발달, 극심한 인간성 상실, 미래 없는 암울한 현실에서 문학과 예술의 융합적 형태라 할 수 있는 사진시라는 새로운 장르를 시도하였다. 그러나 그 이면에는 당대 정치적 메시지가 담겨져 있고, 이는 『학원』 매체의 이념적 특성과 시적 담론과도 연관성이 있다.

영문 초록

This thesis examines the connotation of early photographic poetry, which was published in the medium of the youth literary journal 『Hakwon』, published in the 1950s. Created during the Korean War, the 『Hakwon』 media established a planning strategy to harmonize the literary and artistic genres together by arranging literature and photography, a visual element that can stimulate the eyes and interest of readers, as a comprehensive literary magazine for the enlightenment of young people. Among them, photo poetry, which appears in the form of a graft of poetry and photography, is an attempt to pursue the diversity of literature and art after the war, but also the possibility that it may be the result of other external intentions cannot be excluded. Considering the circumstances of the 1950s when the media could not be free from the problem of ideology, there is a possibility that photographic poetry was not irrelevant to the political power of the time. Therefore, this study was intended to examine what the photographic poetry contained in the 『Hakwon』 published in the 1950s. The subject of the study was the works from 1954 to 1957, when photo poetry first appeared in 『Hakwon』. As a result, photographic poetry, born in the midst of the political chaos in the 1950s, presents a 'example' and 'perspective' to someone in terms of ideology and culture, and is misused in matters of education, affirmation of lessons, and mobilization through youth culture. There is a part that has been This means that the political lines of South Korean society, which followed the US-centered anti-communist Cold War order system at the time, had various influences on the mass media, and that the works contained in the media of 『Hakwon』 could not be free from this social reality. In the post-Korean War, excessive technological development, extreme loss of humanity, and the gloomy reality without a future, the 『Hakwon』 media tried a new genre called photo poetry, a fusion form of literature and art. However, behind the scenes, there is a political message of the time, which is also related to the ideological characteristics and poetic discourse of the medium.
