타 대학 교류 경험에 대한 대학생의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 타 대학 학생들과의 교류에 대한 대학생의 경험을 탐색적으로 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 충북 소재 A 대학이 운영하는 대학 간 연합 프로그램(가칭 대학연합프로젝트)을 연구 맥락으로 설정하였다. A 대학과 서울 소재 B, C 대학이 함께 진행한 회차에 참여했던 학생들 중 팀 내 교류가 활발한 5개 팀의 13명의 학생을 대상으로 심층면담 방식을 활용한 질적 사례연구 방법을 적용하였다. 연구 결과는 크게 참여 동기, 참여 경험, 지원 요구의 세 영역으로 제시되었다. 참여 학생들은 다른 학생과의 교류에 대한 요구를 갖고 있었으며, 타 대학과의 교류는 새로운 상호작용을 할 수 있는 환경적 요인으로 인식되었다. 타 대학과의 교류 경험은 서열에 대한 고정관념을 깨고 스스로를 성찰하며 새로운 모습을 발견할 수 있는 기회가 되었다. 마지막으로 타 대학과의 교류가 유의미한 경험이 되기 위해서는 참여 학생 간의 친밀감을 형성할 수 있는 기회가 마련되어야 하며, 학교를 섞어서 팀을 구성하는 융합적 교류의 형태로 운영되어야 한다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 타 대학 교류 경험의 강점을 극대화할 수 있는 정책적, 제도적 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the university students’ perspectives regarding intercollegiate experiences. In order to achieve the research purpose, the intercollegiate program(University A in Chungbuk, University B and C in Seoul) was set as the research case. A qualitative case study method using an in-depth interview method was applied to 13 students from 5 teams engaging in active teamwork. The research results were largely presented in three areas: motive, experience of participation, and support needs. Students had a demand for interactions with other students, and the intercollegiate program was recognized as an environmental factor for such interactions. The intercollegiate experience became an opportunity for students to break stereotypes about the pecking order, reflect on oneself, and to discover new aspects of themselves. Lastly, in order for the intercollegiate experience to be a significant learning experience, an opportunity to form intimacy among participating students should be provided, and it should be operated in the form of a convergent exchange that forms a team by mixing schools. Based on these results, policy and institutional implications for maximizing the strengths of intercollegiate experiences are presented.
