국문 초록

본고는 4차 산업혁명을 간단히 정의하고 이 혁명이 초래한 세 가지 문제로 인간성의 재정의, 사회체제 의 재구조화, 생애 직업 능력의 제고 필요성을 지적한 후, 4차 산업혁명의 특성과 이 혁명이 초래한 문제점 및 그 해결책 모색에는 통상 4C(혹은 6C)로 요약되는 능력 중 융복합적 창의성이 가장 크게 요구된다는 점을 논증했다. 나아가 이런 능력을 통해 4차 산업혁명이 초래한 문제들을 해결하는 데 있어서 전공교육의 유용성이 생각 이상으로 떨어지며, 교양교육이야 말로 문제 해결의 최적임자라는 점도 여러 데이터와 연구들을 활용하여 명확히 보여주었다. 끝으로 교양교육이 융복합적 창의성을 제고하기 위해서는 기존의 교양교육과정, 특히 배분이수제가 안고 있는 본질적이고도 고질적인 한계점을 극복해야 할 것이라는 점과 그에 대한 개선책을 제안했다. 이런 개선과 개혁을 통해서 필수 공통 교과목들과 배분이수제 속의 필수 선택 교과목들, 그리고 수업연계활동이 유기적으로 융합되고 나아가 통합될 때, 교양교육을 통한 융복합적 창의성은 더욱 강화될 것이며, 4차 산업혁명이 초래한 세 가지 문제 해결의 가능성도 한 층 더 높아지리라 기대한다.

영문 초록

This work briefly defines the meaning of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and explains that the three problems produced by the Revolution are the need to redefine the meaning of humanity, to reframe the social structure, and to elevate the level of people’s lifetime job competences. Next, this work strongly argues that what is needed most in finding a solution for the three problems is creativity based on the convergence and integration among the so-called 4Cs or 6Cs. In addition, from drawing on a variety of data and previous research results, this work also clearly shows that liberal education is much more useful than major/concentration education when it comes to solving these three problems. Lastly, this work also points out that the reform of the liberal education curriculum in general, and its distribution system in particular, is necessary for the sake of heightening the level of creativity based on convergence and integration, and then suggests several ways of reforming these areas. With these kinds of reforms, liberal education could heighten the level of creativity based on convergence and integration and the possibility of solving the aforementioned three problems would be promoted.
