국문 초록

21세기에 들어와 일본의 독도영유권 주장은 한층 강화되었는데, 그것은 초중등학교 사 회과 교육과정 및 교과서에 독도를 기술한 것이다. 이에 한국도 초중등학교 사회과 교육과 정 및 교과서에 독도를 자국의 영토로 서술했다. 나아가 한국은 독도교육을 강화하기 위해 다양한 정책을 개발했다. 그 중에서 전국 시도별로 25개의 독도교육실천연구회를 선정하여 지원한 것은 주목할 만하다. 연구회의 목적은 다양한 독도교육의 활동을 개발 및 실천하여 그 성과를 공유하는 것이다. 각 연구회는 교과서 중심의 독도교육에서 탈피하여 창의적 체험활동을 중요시했다. 그래서 연구회의 독도교육 활동은 교내에서의 실천, 교외에서의 실천, 교내외에서 온라인을 통한 실천 등 다양한 형태로 전개되었다. 그 결과 학생들의 독도 에 대한 관심과 애정은 높아졌고, 교사는 독도수업에 대한 전문성이 신장되었다. 2017년 연구회의 보고서는 인터넷에 공개되어 독도교육의 공유와 활성화에 기여했다.

영문 초록

As Japan s claim to Dokdo has been further strengthened in the 21st century, it leads to describe Dokdo in the social studies curriculum and textbooks of primary and secondary schools. Korea has also described Dokdo as its territory in the curriculum and textbooks of elementary and middle school social studies. Furthermore, Korea government has developed various policies to enhance Dokdo education. Among them, it is noteworthy that 25 Dokdo Education and Practice Study Groups were selected and supported in each city and province of the whole country. The purpose of the study groups is to develop and practice various Dokdo educational activities and to share their achievements. Each study group focused more on creative experience activities than textbook-based Dokdo education. Therefore, the Dokdo educational activities of the Study Group were developed in various forms such as practices within and out of schools and online practices. As a result, students interest in and affection for Dokdo has increased, and teachers have become more specialized in Dokdo classes. The reports of the study groups were published in 2017 on the Internet and contributed to the sharing and revitalization of Dokdo education.
