2007 개정 교육과정에 따른 중학교 미술교과서의 특징

국문 초록

2007 개정 미술과 교육과정에 따른 중학교 미술교과서 검인정 9종을 분석하면 외형적으로는 3개 학년의 교과서를 통권으로 묶고 판형이 국배판으로 커졌다. 전반적으로 도판이 새롭고 커졌으며, 디자인, 화질, 인쇄도 선진국 수준의 높은 수준을 유지하고 있지만, 참신성과 독창성이 부족하다. 내용면에서는 체계적인 내용을 구성하고 있으며 내용의 중복이 없다. 교사의 입장에서는 교수활동에 편리하게 활용할 수 있는 가운데 학습자의 수준을 고려하여 학생 활동을 잘 살펴볼 수 있도록 구성되어 있으며 그리고 다양한 수행평가방법이나 항목을 제시하고 있다. 또한 단원별로 학습정리가 잘 되어있고, 용어정리, 보충자료, 다양한 활동지, 참고자료와 인터넷 사이트 제시 등 예시자료가 풍부하다. 그러나 시수에 비해 내용이 과다하며, 일부에서는 편향적인 내용구성, 형식적인 학습자료 제시 그리고 전반적으로는 획일적이다. 독창적인 교과서를 위해서 교사와 집필자의 의식변화와 함께 다양한 지원이 필요하며, 무엇보다 검정제도의 개선과 집필자와 편집자들에게 제작에 관한 자유가 주어져야 할 것이다. 이는 검정과정에서 규제나 조건보다 창의성과 개성이 존중받는 제도 마련이 우선되어야 한다.

영문 초록

According to my analysis of the revised 2007 middle school curriculum for the nine kinds of art textbook authorized from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, three textbooks for the each school year are superficially bound together and are increased in A4 size(210×297mm). In general, the images in the textbook are newer and bigger than the old one and design and print quality are keeping up a very good level compared to other OECD countries. In addition to that, the contents of the textbook are well organized, and also there are no overlapped contents. The new textbook considered for students ability provides teachers with rich methods of the performance-based assessment, terminologies, supplement materials, various worksheets, addresses of Internet site(URL), sample materials. However, there are some problems such as no novelty and originality in the revised textbook. For instance, the textbook consists of too much contents for the scheduled times and has an unbalanced content for a specific chapter that is organized formally and uniformly. I would like to suggest that our government has to provide teachers and textbook makers with various supports and freedom to develop an originality book and has to make a system considering creativity and personality as the most important matter in developing authorized textbooks. Lastly, I also suggest that teachers and education administrators try to change their strait and narrow mind and approach to develop an innovative textbook in the field of art education.
