중등 교육과정 변화를 반영한 대학 미적분학 교육전략 모색

국문 초록

중등 교육과정과 대학수학능력시험의 변화로 인해 대학 수학의 교과과정과 교과내용의 개편은 불가피하다. 특히 2022학년도부터는 대학수학능력시험에 문이과 구분이 없어질 뿐만 아니라 2015개정 교육과정의 특징인 과목선택제로 인하여 대학 신입생들의 기초학력의 차가 더욱 커질 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 2015개정 교육과정에 대한 정확한 이해를 바탕으로 학생들의 기초학습능력 변화에 대응하는 대학 미적분학의 교육전략을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 20개 고교를 대상으로 2015개정 교육과정 운영 현황을 분석하였다. 또한 수학 교과목의 변화와 대학수학능력시험 수학영역 출제과목의 변화를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 고등학교에서 ‘미적분’을 선택 이수하였는지 그리고 수능 수학영역에서 ‘미적분’을 선택 응시하였는지는 대학 미적분학의 교과과정을 개선하는데 중요한 기준점이 되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 중등교육과정에서 학습하지 못한 대학수학의 선수개념을 학습할 수 있도록 대학 미적분학의 교과내용을 재설계해야 할 뿐만 아니라 기초학력에 따른 단계별 및 수준별 학습을 할 수 있도록 교과과정을 개선할 것을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

In order to reform both the curriculum and the contents of university calculus, changes in secondary education courses and the College Scholastic Ability Test are inevitable. In particular, from the 2022 academic year onwards, not only will there be no distinction between liberal arts and the natural sciences in the College Scholastic Ability Test, but the difference in basic academic ability among college freshmen is expected to widen due to the subject selection system, which is a feature of the 2015 revised curriculum. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find ways to improve the college calculus curriculum in response to changes in the basic learning ability of the students, based on an accurate understanding of the 2015 revised curriculum. To that end, 20 high schools were analyzed for the current status of the 2015 revised curriculum. We also analyzed changes in mathematics subjects and changes in mathematics field subjects of the College Scholastic Ability Test. As a result, we found that whether ‘calculus’ was selected in high school, and whether ‘calculus’ was selected in the math section of the SAT, became an important criterion for improving the curriculum of college calculus. Therefore, this study suggests that the curriculum should not only be redesigned to better account for the prerequisite concepts of college mathematics that have not been learned in secondary education courses, but also to improve the curriculum so that students can learn in a step-by-level manner, and at a level that matches their basic academic ability.
