팀기반학습에서 학습자의 경험 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 팀기반학습에서 학습자 긍정적 경험 및 어려움, 학습자가 유용하다고 인식하는 교수자의 도움을 분석함으로써 추후 팀기반학습을 설계하고 실천하고자 하는 교수자에게 처방적인 지식을 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 팀기반학습을 경험한 99명의 학습자가 작성한 성찰일지와 서면 인터뷰 결과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 학습자들은 지적 흥미 및 지식적용의 가치와 팀활동의 중요성을 인식하고, 적극적 태도 및 자신감이 향상되는 긍정적 경험을 하였다. 하지만 학습자들은 팀기반학습을 하는 동안 협업의 어려움, 문제해결의 어려움, 학업부담을 극복하는 어려움, 의사표현의 어려움 등을 겪고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 마지막으로 팀기반학습에서 학습자들은 교수자의 스캐폴딩 제공, 팀기반학습안내 및 문제해결 지원, 수업에 열정을 가지고 학습자들을 존중하는 태도 등이 학습자들이 과제를 성공적으로 해결하는데 필요한 도움으로 인식하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 팀기반학습 설계 시 주의사항, 평가에 대한 학습자와의 합의, 팀기반학습에 대한 오리엔테이션의 중요성, 교수자와 학습자간의 소통기회 제공 등과 관련된 결론을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to clarify the positive experiences of students, along with the difficulties inherent in team-based learning, and to document the students’ perception regarding the help they received from their instructors. For the purpose of the study, the results of reflective journals and interviews written by 99 learners who experienced team-based learning were analyzed. The results of this study are as follows: First, students had recognized 1) the value of intellectual interest and knowledge application, 2) the importance of team activities, and 3) the improvement of their enthusiastic attitude and confidence felt toward TBL classes. Second, students have difficulties in 1) collaborating with their team members, 2) solving readiness test and application problems, 3) overcoming academic burdens, and 4) expressing their opinions. Third, learners are encouraged by 1) an instructor’s adequate scaffolding, 2) guidance and support for the TBL class, and 3) a respectful attitude displayed towards them on the part of the instructor, as well as the latter’s enthusiasm for the TBL class. Based on the research results, conclusions and discussion were provided.
