Purpose - As the breakdown or mis-operation of a system can cause critical results such as human, material loss and environment destruction and others, the utilization of fail-safe system is increasing and its importance has increased significantly in the modern society. In this dissertation, the main node and redundancy sensor node has been designed so that it would function even if the sensor node that is installed in weak environments malfunction suddenly in terms of safety side. Research design, data, methodology - It has been realized by categorizing the main node and the redundancy node as each master/slave and in case the sensor node is determined to malfunction, it switches to slave so that the effect of malfunction does not influence the superior system.In order to determine the master node as malfunction, the slave acknowledged the output value of master node as interrupt signal and if the interrupt signal input is not above 1000ms, it was determined as malfunction. Results - The redundancy sensor node was categorized as slave so if the master sensor node is judged to malfunction, it would switch to slave so that the malfunction would not influence the superior system. In order to judge the master node as malfunction, the output value of master node was acknowledged as interrupt signal and if the interrupt signal is not input as more than 1,000ms, it was judged as malfunction. Conclusions -In this paper, even if the master sensor node malfunctions, the master/slave has been composed so that the malfunction does not influence the overall system while it functions in terms of safety side. In addition, it has been verified through experiments to ensure that the effect of malfunction does not influence the overall system.
