국문 초록

1930년대는 1920년대 중반부터 시작한 모더니즘과 아방가르드가 정착을 이룬 시기이다. <백조파>로 분류될 수 있는 낭만적 경향이 퇴조를 보이고 <신경향파>가 정치적 이유로 고전하고 있는 시기에, 이미지즘과 주지주의 그리고 다다이즘과 초현실주의 경향이 그 자리를 메우고 있었다. 김광균, 장만영 등의 이미지즘 경향과 신고전주의적 주지주의 계열의 김기림 시와는 달리 비록 초기시의 경향이지만 정지용, 임화, 김화산, 박팔양, 오장환 등이 보인 다다이스트적인 면모는 분명 근대시에 있어 새로운 경향이 틀림 없었다. 게다가 이상(李箱)을 비롯한 이시우 등의 초현실주의는 시의 방법론적인 모색을 넘어 무의식을 탐험하고 있다는 점에서 정신 공간을 넓히는 것이었다. 이와 같은 배경으로 아방가르드 운동은 고한용이 고ᄯᅡᄯᅡ라라는 필명으로 다다이즘을 소개하는 글 <ᄯᅡᄯᅡ이즘>(≪개벽≫, 1924.9.)과 (≪동아일보≫, 1924.11.27.)와 함께, 박팔양의 <윤전기와 사층집>, 정지용의 <카ᅋᅦ―ᅋᅳ란스>, <슬픈 인상화>, <파충류동물> 등에서 다다이즘을 살필 수 있고, 이상과 ≪三四文學≫을 중심으로 초현실주의 시의 미적 방향을 가늠하기에 이르렀다. 이는 서구문학의 직접적 수용과 일본의 ≪詩와 詩論≫을 중심으로 활동했던 니시와키 준자부로(西脇順三郞), 기타가와 후유히코(北川冬彦), 기타조노 가쓰에(北園克衛), 하루야마 유키오(春山行夫) 등이 소개되면서 아방가르드가 우리 근대 문학에서 중요한 부면을 차지하게 되었다. ≪三四文學≫은 뚜렷한 이념이나 문학적 에꼴로 이루어진 집단적 성격의 유파나 그룹이라기보다는 문학적 경향을 광범위하게 아우르는 <종합잡지> 성격을 띠고 있었다. 2집부터 ‘동인’이라는 명칭이 명시되기는 했으나, 이는 <책임편집 동인>의 성격이 짙었다. 또한, 이시우의 「絶緣하는 論理」와 「SURREALISME」이 초현실주의 시론이라고 알려졌으나, 이는 이시우 개인의 문학적 소회를 밝히고 있다는 성격이 강하다. ≪三四文學≫은 다다이즘의 혁명성과 초현실주의의 자유 정신을 체현하고자 하는 미적 인식을 지니고 있었다. 이 점으로 인해 우리 근대문학에서 모더니티를 확보할 수 있게 되었다.

영문 초록

The 1930s was the period when Modernism and Avant-garde, which began in the mid-1920s, were settled. At a time when the romantic tendency to be classified as the ‘Baek-Jo is declining and the ‘New Tendency Literature’ is struggling for political reasons, Imagism, Intellectualism, Dadaism and tendency of Surrealism were emerging. Unlike the imagism of Kim Gwang-gyun, Jang Man-young, etc. and the neoclassical tendency of intellectualism of Kim Ki-rim, Dadaism aspects were evident in the early stages of modern poetry of Jeong Ji-yong, Imhwa, Kim Hwa-san, Park Pal-yang, and Oh Jang-hwan. This was certainly a new trend. Furthermore, Surrealism from Yi Sang and Lee Si-woo, expanded the mental space in that they were exploring unconsciousness beyond the methodological search of poetry. Much like the aforementioned, the Avant-garde movement showed Dadaism with Go Han-yong(Godada by pen name)’s ‘Dadaism’(Gaebyeok, 1924.9.) and ‘Da Da’(Donga-Ilbo, 1924.11.27.). It also had the aesthetic tendency of surrealist poetry found in the work of Park Pal-yang s ‘rotary press and Four-story House’, Jung Ji-yong s ‘Cafe-France’, ‘Sad Impression’, and ‘Reptilian Animal’, and the aesthetic direction of surrealistic poetry was understood with the focus on Yi Sang and Samsa-Munhak. Avant-garde has become an important part of modern Korean literature with the direct acceptance of Western literature and the introduction of Japanese poets, Nishiwaki Junzaburō, Kitagawa Fuyuhiko, Kitazono Katsue and Haruyama Yukio who participated in SITOSIRON(The poem and theory of poem). Samsa-Munhak had the character of a general magazine, which encompasses a wide range of literary trends, rather than a group or a group of distinct ideologies or literary ethos. Although called ‘Dong-in’ from the second edition, it played its role as ‘The Editor, Dong-in’. In addition, Lee Si-woo s ‘deviate from Logic(de’paysement)’ and ‘SURREALISME’ are known as surrealist theories, but it is more likely viewed as Lee Si-woo s personal literary opinions. Samsa-Munhak had an aesthetic perception to embody the revolutionary nature of Dadaism and the free spirit of Surrealism. This allowed us to secure modernity in our modern literature.
