국문 초록

본 연구는 코로나-19로 대학수업의 비대면이라는 급격한 수업방식의 전환이라는 상황에서 대학신입생의 경험을 근거이론을 통해 개념화하고 구조화하여 학습효과를 높일 수 있는 교육방향의 지향점을 제언하고 있다. 대학신입생의 비대면 학업경험은 온라인 학습참여의 쉬운 접근성, 복습용이, 온라인 매체를 통한 소통편리, 절대평가의 장점이 있으나, 인터넷 장비부담 및 웹 장애 문제 그리고 과제부담의 가중으로 귀결되며 이에 능동적으로 대처하는 교수와 학생의 개별적 특성에 따라 학습효과가 달리 나타날 수다. 특히, 대학생활을 처음 경험하는 신입생들은 대학생활에 대한 정보부족과 비대면 대학생활의 지속 그리고 사회적 거리두기에 따른 외출자제로 인해 집안에서 활동하는 시간이 지속되자 시간관리를 효율적으로 하는데 어려움을 느끼면서 자존감 저하, 무력감, 우울감 등을 겪고 있다. 이에 따른 신입생의 대학생활 적응 및 학습효과가 떨어질 때 적절히 관여하여 도움을 줄 수 있는 교수자의 상담기능을 대학차원에서 강화할 필요가 있다. 즉, 비대면 수업이라는 한계가 있지만 실시간 채팅, 카카오톡, 웹엑스 미팅 등의 온라인 컨텐츠를 적극 활용하여 교수와 학생 간의 라포를 형성하고 심리적 거리감을 좁힐 수 있도록 해야 한다. 가능하면 학생들의 의견을 주기적⋅통합적으로 수렴할 수 있는 정기적 채널을 개설하는 것이 바람직하다. 또한, 비대면 실시간 수업을 진행하는 교수의 경우 강의 시에 이해력을 높일 수 있는 구체적이고 자세한 강의 자료를 제공하는 온라인의 특성에 맞는 자료 개발과 동시에 온라인 수업설계와 운영과 관련된 장애물들을 사전에 파악하고 대비하는 노력이 필요하다. 그리고, 동시에 대학의 실시간 온라인 컨텐츠의 안정적인 인프라 구축 및 컨텐츠 활용을 위한 행정지원 등이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study proposes the direction of education in the hopes of increasing the effects of learning. It does so by conceptualizing and structuring the experiences of college freshmen through grounded theory in the context of a rapid change in the teaching method of non-face-to-face college classes due to COVID-19. The non-face-to-face academic experience of college freshmen has the following advantages: easy access to online learning participation, ease of review, convenience of communication through online media, and absolute evaluation. At the same time, this approach results in an increased burden felt among both teachers and students of having to provide and use internet equipment, the burden of overcoming certain obstacles inherent to the internet, and the burden of having to deal with extra assignments. Of course, the effects of this sort of approach to learning may differ depending on the individual characteristics of the professors and students invovled, but certain commonalities may be observed. For instance, when new students have difficulty in effectively managing their time as they continue to be confined at home due to social distancing, and when the learning effect decreases due to reduced self-esteem, helplessness, and depression, these students are understandably in need of assistance. Thus, it is necessary for educators to strengthen the counseling function that can take place at the university level. In addition, although there are certain limitations involved in non-face-to-face classes, online content such as real-time chats, Kakao Talk, and WebEx meetings should be actively used to form a better rapport between professors and students, and to try to narrow the psychological distancing being experienced. If possible, it is desirable to establish a channel through which opinions of the students can be periodically integrated. In the case of professors who conduct non-face-to-face real-time classes, they should develop materials suitable for the characteristics of online classes that provide detailed lecture materials which enhance understanding during lectures. At the same time, instructors should identify and prepare for obstacles related to online classes involving design and execution. In a word, a great deal of more effort is required in this area. Finally, it is necessary to establish a stable infrastructure for the real-time online content of universities, and to establish administrative support for the utilization of this content.
