국문 초록

본 소고는 현대예배의 찬송이 하나님의 말씀으로 이성의 계몽과 더불어 성령의감화, 감동하심의 신앙적 정서를 이루지 못하고, 인간의 감정과 의지를 중심에 둔현대 찬송시의 문제점과 한계를 제기한다. 그 문제점과 한계에 대한 도전과 대안의연구로 본 소고는 프루덴티우스의 『일과서』 제9번 “하나님의 말씀으로”를 제시한다. 본 소고는 프루덴티우스의 찬송시를 문학적으로, 신학적으로 분석 연구하여 현대예배의 찬송에 도전과 나아갈 방향을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 프루덴티우스의 찬송시는 ‘니케아 신조’에 근거한 전통신앙과 신학의 논쟁, 교리적인 가르침을 목적으로 하고 있기 때문에 현대 찬송가는 개혁신앙과 성경에 기초한 진리를 선포하는 것에 집중해야 한다. 또한 프루덴티우스는 찬송시로 성삼위 하나님을 찬양하는 동시에 성삼위일체의 교리교육서로 사용되었기 때문에 현대예배의 찬송도성삼위일체의 가르침과 교리를 찬양의 중심에 놓아야 한다. 『일과서』 제9번은 창조의 시작에서 종말까지 신앙의 점진적 이해와 과정을 묘사하고 있다. 프루덴티우스가 『일과서』 제9번에서 기독교신앙을 찬송시로 변화시켰듯이, 신자의 삶은 날마다 예배의 자리에서 하나님의 말씀(로고스)을 찬송함으로 성육신의 삶으로 변화되어야 한다. 그 “일상”은 프루덴티우스의 “하나님의 말씀으로”처럼 세상을 향한 저항의 노래와 구원의 완성을 향한 로고스 찬송이 되어야 한다.

영문 초록

Prudentius’ “Of the Father’s Love Begotten” is a significant example and a corrective to the problems and limitations of modern hymnal poetry focused on personal experiences and wills rather than God’s revelation. This paper aims to examine Prudentius’ hymnal poetry in light of literary and theological analysis beyond the problems and limitations posed by recent research and study on Prudentius’ Cathemerinon IX. As Cathemerinon IX had a significant impact on demonstrating Christian faith and truth against heresies in harmony with the doctrines of the council of Nicaea, modern hymns also must focus on witnessing the truth(Gospel), and on praising God. This paper articulates that Prudentius’ hymnal poetry functioned as a propaganda for the Word (Logos)--centered faith and as a theological polemic. Prudentius put the theological understanding on Trinity in his poetry against Arianism and pagans. Modern hymns must, therefore, put Trinity at the center of teaching and praising. Prudentius Cathemerinon IX illuminated a gradual process of understanding on faith from the creation to the end of time, which is the whole of salvation history. Finally, Prudentius’ hymnal poetry accomplishes this as it not only stressed the Word of God, but also focused on the revelation, attribute, and redemptive history of God. Therefore, Cathemerinon IX becomes a testimony to Christ, and functions as both a doxological poetry and a poetic catechesis.
