국문 초록

개혁·개방정책을 통해 중국은 급속한 경제성장을 이루었다. 그러나 동부 연해 우전 발전정책의 부작용으로 지역 간 발전 격차가 매우 커졌으며, 이에 따라 중국 정부는 내륙지역의 성장 잠재력을 끌어올려 불균형을 해소하기 위한 대규모 인프라 투자 사업을 시행하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 2006년부터 2016년까지 중국의 성·시·자치구의 패널 데이터를 이용하여 지역 교통 인프라 발전과 지역 경제성장 간의 관계에 관해 연구하였다. 특히 중국 정부는 지역 균형개발을 위하여 점·축 성장이론에 기반을 두고 장강유역 개발계획에 많은 국가적 역량을 투입하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 특히 중국의 수로 인프라의 확충과 경제성장 간의 상관관계 분석에 집중하여 수로 인프라와 지역 경제성장 간의 관계분석뿐 아니라 각 교통인프라 간의 상호분석을 병행하여 실시하였다. 분석 결과 중국의 지역별 교통 인프라 발전은 전반적으로 경제성장에 부정적인 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다. 동부 지역과 동북 지역에서 교통 인프라의 발전은 경제성장률에 부정적인 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다. 또한 교통 인프라 중 수로 인프라만 경제성장에 긍정적인 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다. 교통 인프라 사이의 상호작용을 분석해본 결과 수로와 철도인프라, 수로와 도로 인프라 사이에 긍정적인 상호작용 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Reform and opening policy made China have a great performance in economic growth. But also brought many problems such as regional disparity. To solve this problem, Chinese government is implementing infrastructure investment project to enhance growth potential of inland region for reduce regional gap. This paper provide empirical evidence on the relationship between regional transportation infrastructure development and regional economic growth using Chinese provincial-level panel data throughout from 2006 to 2016. In particular, the Chinese government is putting a lot of national capabilities into the Changjiang Basin development plan based on the theory of point-and-axis growth for balanced regional development. Therefore, this study focused on analyzing the correlation between the expansion of China s waterway infrastructure and economic growth, and conducted a relationship analysis between the waterway infrastructure and regional economic growth. In addition, a cross-analysis between transportation infrastructure was conducted simultaneously. Results shows that Chinese regional transportation infrastructure development has negative effect on regional economic growth rate. Transport infrastructure development in east coast region and northeast region have found negative effect. Among three kinds of transport mode, only waterway infrastructure has positive effect on regional economic growth rate. We also study interaction effect among transport mode, our finding shows that between waterway and railway, waterway and roadway have positive interaction effect.
