대학 글쓰기 교육의 현황과 진로

국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 경북대학교 <글쓰기> 교과의 체제와 운영 현황을 중심으로 대학 글쓰기 교육의 현황을 진단하고 향후 방향을 모색하는 데 있다. 현재 경북대학교 <글쓰기>는 기초교육원에서 운영 및 관리하고 있고, 필수과목으로 지정되어 있으며, 학습자 위주와 첨삭지도 중심으로 강의가 이루어지고 있다. 이는 2007년 9월에 기초교육원이 설치된 이후에 나타난 변화이다. 경북대학교 <글쓰기>는 <인문학 글쓰기>, <사회과학 글쓰기>, <과학과기술 글쓰기>로 나누어져 있다. 교안은 크게 기초과정과 심화과정으로, 심화과정은 인문학, 사회과학, 과학기술로 구분되어 있다. 기초과정에서는 글쓰기를 과정별로 익히고, 대학생활 및 취업과 관련된 실용문 쓰기를 배운다. 심화과정에서는 전공 관련 주제 글쓰기와 실용 글쓰기를 배운다. 교재는 이 같은 교과목과 교안에 맞도록 구성되어 있다. 경북대학교 <글쓰기>에서는 첨삭지도를 특별히 강조하고 있다. 첨삭지도가 학생들의 글쓰기 능력을 향상시키는 가장 효과적인 방법이기 때문이다. 한편, 경북대학교에서는 교과의 발전을 위해 글쓰기 연수회, 글쓰기 대회, 글쓰기 심포지엄 등 다양한 행사를 개최하고 있으며, 일상적이고 지속적인 글쓰기 지도를 위해 글쓰기 도움터를 운영하고 있다. 경북대학교 <글쓰기>는 지난 3년을 거치며 체제와 운영 기준을 확립했고, 대학의 교양 교육 체계에 어느 정도 자리 잡았다. 그러나 향후 교양 교육의 중심으로 더욱 굳건히 뿌리내리기 위해서는 교과의 안정성을 확보하고, 교과의 전문성을 강화하며, 교과목의 분화와 다양화를 추진해야 한다. 이는 교과 운영진의 노력뿐만 아니라 대학 당국의 지원, 대학 글쓰기 교육 공동체 성원들의 연대가 결합되어야 가능할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to explain the present condition about writing education at Kyungpook National University(KNU) and discuss how to drive it. Since Faculty of Liberal Education(FLE) was established at KNU, there were lots of change in Writing Course. FLE has been responsible for the control of writing education. And Writing has been changed from an optional subject to a required subject. In addition, the methods and contents on how to teach has changed. Recently Writing of KNU has three divisions, Writing in Humanities, Writing in Social Sciences, Writing in Science & Technology. Therefore, the lesson plan is also divided into a basic course and an advanced course. An advanced course is divided into three parts. We published a textbook that is suitable for the lesson plan. The writing eduaction of KNU emphasizes the correction. Meanwhile, the writing eduaction of KNU has held a writing workshop, writing contest, writing symposium to further develope writing education. To offer more efficient guidance, we are also trying to manage Writing Center continuously. We must secure the stability, strengthen the professionalism, specialization and diversification for the course to develop writing education from now on. Therefore, we, the writing educators, university authorities and members must accumulate capability and wisdom steadily.
