국문 초록

이 논문은 동국대학교 경주캠퍼스 파라미타칼리지 글쓰기교육센터에서 운영하고 있는 비교과 프로그램 ‘실용 글쓰기 검정시험 대비반’의 현황과 성과를 살펴보는 것에 목적이 있다. 동국대학교 경주캠퍼스에서는 2011학년도 10월을 시작으로 2014학년도까지 총 8차에 걸쳐 ‘실용 글쓰기 검정시험 대비반’을 운영한 바 있다. 본고에서는 구체적인 성과를 ‘실용 글쓰기 검정시험 대비반’ 프로그램에 참여한 학습자들의 자기 효능감을 중심으로 분석하였다. 글쓰기교육센터에서 개발한 ‘자기 효능감’은 총 22개 문항으로, 프로그램 개강과 종강 2회에 걸쳐 실시하였다. 영역은 5가지(지식, 평판, 흥미, 기능, 불안)로 나뉜다. 2014학년도 1학기 종강에서는 특별히 ‘만족도 설문조사’도 같이 실시하였다. 만족도 설문조사는 동국대학교 경주캠퍼스 교육역량개발센터에서 제작한 설문 형태로 참사람 핵심역량 만족도 설문 조사라고 일컫는다. 참사람 핵심역량은 동국대학교의 건학이념과 교육 목표 및 인재 등을 ‘역량’과 관련시켜 자비 실천, 창의적, 도전 성취, 글로벌, 직무 등 다섯 가지 영역으로 분류하고 있으며 각 영역에 해당하는 세부 영역이 있다. 뿐만 아니라 프로그램에 대한 만족도 결과 분석을 따로 실시하였다. ‘실용 글쓰기 검정시험 대비반’에 참여한 학습자들의 글쓰기 효능감은 전반적으로 향상된 것으로 조사되었으며 2014학년도 1학기에 처음 실시한 만족도 설문조사에서도 만족도가 높게 나타났다. ‘실용 글쓰기 검정시험 대비반’ 강좌가 학생들의 효능감 향상에 긍정적인 역할을 하였으며, 기능·평판·흥미·불안 영역의 개선에 크게 기여한다는 사실이 드러난 것이다. 이것은 ‘실용 글쓰기 검정시험 대비반’ 프로그램이 추구하는 목적을 달성한 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 앞으로도 수요자인 학습자들의 반응과 요구를 분석하여 적합하고 체계적인 실용 글쓰기의 토대를 마련해주어야 할 것이다. 또한 ‘실용 글쓰기 검정시험 대비반’ 강좌를 지속적으로 강화하여 글쓰기 교과 교육 과정과의 연계 가능성을 마련해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the status and performance of the Korean Practical Writing Examination (KPWE) Preparation Course , which is an extracurricular program offered by the Writing Education Center at Dongguk University Gyeongju Campus Paramita College. Dongguk University Gyeongju Campus has offered 8 sessions of the KPWE Preparation Course from October 2011 to 2014. This study analyzed its specific performance based on the self-efficacy of learners who have participated in the course. The self-efficacy survey form developed by the Writing Education Center included 22 questions and was implemented twice at the start and at the end of the program. It had five areas (knowledge, reputation, interest, function, and anxiety). At the end of the First Semester of 2014, ‘Satisfaction Survey’ was also implemented. Satisfaction Survey is the form of survey developed by Dongguk University Gyeongju Campus Education Capacity Development Center and referred to as True People Core Capacity Satisfaction Survey . True People Core Capacity is classified into five areas -benevolence, creativity, challenge, global, and career-based on Dongguk University s philosophy, educational objectives, and manpower, and each area has subcategories. It was found that the writing efficacy of learners who participated in the ‘KPWE Preparation Course’ improved and their satisfaction was high as a result of the satisfaction survey first implemented in the First Semester of 2014. The ‘KPWE Preparation Course’ served a positive role to improve the students efficacy and greatly contributed to the improvement of their function, reputation, interest, and anxiety. This shows that the ‘KPWE Preparation Course’ has achieved its objectives. In the future, the learners responses and demands should be analyzed to lay the foundation for practical writing. Also, the ‘KPWE Preparation Course’ should be reinforced in connection to the writing courses in the curricular programs.
