교양교육으로 <말하기와 글쓰기> 과목의 현황

국문 초록

선문대학교에서는 2012년 1학기부터 <말하기와 글쓰기>강좌를 신입생이라면 누구나 한 학기동안 2학점을 이수해야하는 교양 필수과목으로 지정하였다. 선문대학교 교양대학에서는 <말하기와 글쓰기>과목의 발전방향에 대해서 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 또한 이 과목에 있어서 공통된 교육목표와 방법, 시스템 등에서 여전히 확정되지 않은 부분들은 지속적으로 조율을 하고 있다. 무엇보다 이제는 <말하기와 글쓰기> 강좌가 교수자 중심의 학습이 아니라 학습자 중심으로 교육목표와 방향을 디자인하고 강의의 규모와 강의 방식을 혁신(革新)해야 한다. 무엇보다 선문대 <말하기와 글쓰기> 과목이 지닌 학습 목표를 설정하는 것과 동시에 담당 교수간의 협의가 시급하다. 서로의 수업을 공유하고 과목의 개선점을 함께 모색하는 분위기가 여러 대학에서 이루어지고 있는 시점에서 선문대 역시 이러한 움직임이 필요하다. 특히 학교당국은 첨삭(添削)을 주관할 수 있는 지도기구의 필요성을 인지하여 정착시켜야 하며, 무엇보다 학생들에게 <말하기와 글쓰기>수업에서 가장 큰 영향력을 발휘할 수 있는 우수한 교수진의 확보가 중요하다. 아울러 교수진의 안정적인 신분보장과 재정지원을 통해 우수 교수진 선발 및 선진교육시스템을 도입하여 제도화하는 것이 중요하다. 이는 수강생들에게는 지금의 학습환경을 개선하여 학습에 대한 의욕을 강화하는 한편, 이를 통해 <말하기와 글쓰기>수업에 적극적인 참여를 통해 진정한 의사소통을 하는 방안으로 판단되며, 이 과목을 기반으로 하여 모든 학문에서 두루 적용할 수 있는 수강생들의 학습능력을 향상해야 한다.

영문 초록

Sunmoon University designated the course as a general education requirement in the first semester of 2012. All the freshmen must take the 2-credit course for a semester. The General Education Institute of the university is making a lot of efforts to set the development direction of the subject. In addition, it is constantly discussing undecided matters related to the subject - common education goal and methods, system, etc. Above all, now it is strongly necessary to newly design its education goal and direction - learner centered learning, not instructor centered learning - and innovate the lecture size and lecture methods. Above all, it is urgent to set the subject learning objective and the professors in charge should discuss things related to the subject. At several universities, an atmosphere where professors share their classes and seek to improve their subjects together is being created. The university also needs to follow the trend. Especially, the school authority should recognize the necessity of a guidance organization that can supervise corrections and should settle the organization. Having an excellent faculty who can have the greatest influence on the performance of the students taking the course is more important than anything else. In addition, it is important to adopt a system for selecting an excellent faculty and advanced education and institutionalize it through ensuring the job security of the faculty and providing financial support for them. It is thought that the system as a method will strengthen the attendees motivation for learning by improving the current learning environment. As a result, they will communicate with each other genuinely by actively participating in the class. Based on the subject, it is necessary to improve the attendees learning ability that can be used to learn any academic field.
