대학 글쓰기 교재 개편 양상 연구

국문 초록

대학은 지성인으로서 학술적 담론화와 정보화 사회에 적합한 의사소통 능력을 함양하는 데 목표를 두고 개별적으로 대학 글쓰기 교재를 개발해 왔다. 대체적으로 대학 글쓰기 교재는 2000년대 초반에 개발되어 한두 차례의 개정을 거쳐 2010년 이후부터는 본격적인 정비의 시기를 맞는다. 2010년 이후 개편된 대학 글쓰기 교재는 상이한 교육 목표 속에서도 유사한 방향성을 보인다는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 그것은 바로 ‘수행성과 실용성의 강화’다. 수행성과 실용성을 강화한 대학 글쓰기 교재 개편의 경향은 글쓰기 교과를 향한 학습자와 사회 그리고 교수자의 요구가 반영된 결과로 분석할 수 있다. 이러한 상황에서 충남대학교 역시 기존 교재의 문제점을 개선하고 학습자와 교 수자(교육 기관) 그리고 시대적 요구를 반영하려는 목표하에 글쓰기 교재를 전면 개편했다. 충남대학교의 필수 교양 <기초글쓰기>의 교재 『사고와 표현』은 세 가지의 주안점을 두고 새롭게 집필되었다. 첫째는 교육 목표와 수업 환경에 적합한 형식과 내용, 둘째는 수행성과 실용성 및 학술적 글쓰기 강화, 셋째는 적절한 실습과 예문 제시가 그것이다. 그 결과 개편 후 교재 『사고와 표현』은 과정별 글쓰기 체제를 확보하고 수행 성을 강화했으며 학술적 글쓰기와 실용적 글쓰기의 비중이 증가하는 결과를 보였다. 워크북 형식을 지향하는 최근 교재의 경향을 반영하여 이론을 축약하고 학습자가 수업 내용을 단계적으로 수행할 수 있도록 실습 역시 확대되었다. ‘글쓰기의 실제’로 분류된 3장에서는 학술적·실용적 영역에서 사용되는 글쓰기 장르의 작성법을 배울 수 있도록 교재가 구성되었다.

영문 초록

Universities have developed individual university writing textbooks, with the purpose of fostering communication capabilities for academic discourse and information-oriented society. Mostly, university writing textbooks were developed in the early 2000s and passing through one or two revisions, they began to be reorganized in earnest after 2010. It is revealed that the university writing textbooks revised after 2010 pursue a similar direction, which goes towards ‘reinforcement of performance and practice’, although educational objectives are different. The tendency of the reorganized university writing textbooks reinforcing performance and practice reflects the needs of learners, the society, and instructors for writing curriculums. In this situation, Chungnam National University also reorganized the writing textbooks overall to improve problems of the existing textbooks and meet the needs of the times from learners and instructors (educational institutes). 『Thinking and Expression』, a textbook for the liberal arts of Chungnam National University was reorganized focusing on three keynotes. The first was to develop the forms and the contents suitable for educational objectives and learning environments, the second was to reinforce performance, practice, and academic writing, and the third was to provide appropriate practice and example sentences. As a result, the textbooks were equipped with writing systems for individual courses, performance was enhanced, and the proportion of academic writing and practical writing increased. Upon consideration of the recent textbooks, which are oriented towards the form of workbook, theories were abbreviated and practice expanded so learners could perform what they learned, in phases. Also, Chapter 3 of the textbook, classified into ‘Practice of Writing’ was designed to learn how to draw up writing genres used in academic and practice domains.
