의학계열 글쓰기의 지향점과 구성방안

국문 초록

본고는 교양 글쓰기와 전공 연계성 강화라는 필요성에 입각하여 의학계열 글쓰기 의 지향점과 교육내용을 제시하였다. 현대의학은 환자중심의료를 지향하며, 의료인 과 환자는 질병을 매개로 하나의 공동체로서 소통할 수 있어야 한다. 이를 위해 의학 계열 글쓰기에서는 자신과 타인의 몸을 이해하기 위해 먼저 자기 자신을 이해하는 과 정으로 자기성찰적 글쓰기를 바탕으로 한 자기서사 형성의 필요성을 논의하였다. 또 한 ‘듣기’의 중요성을 통해 타자와 외부 지향의 태도를 견지해야 하여, 개인은 타자에 게서 분리될 수 없는 존재로 우리 모두가 질병서사의 공동체이며, 의료인 역시 질병 앞에 나약한 존재라는 점을 수용하는 과정으로 교육내용이 구성되어야 한다. 이러한 논의를 통해 예비 의료인의 정체성이 ‘듣는 의사’와 ‘환자-의사’로 정립되기를 지향하 였다. 구체적으로는 환자-환자가족-의사라는 질병을 둘러싼 공동체를 염두에 둔 의학계 열 글쓰기의 구성방안을 제안하였다. 자신의 질병 체험을 주제로 글을 써 봄으로써 질병에 걸린 몸에 대해 이해하는 기회를 갖고, 질병을 소재로 하는 다양한 텍스트를 통해 질병 주체로서의 환자, 돌봄 주체로서의 환자 가족의 상황을 고민할 수 있는 교 육내용을 제시하였다. 최종적으로는 학생들이 인간의 삶에서 질병의 의미가 무엇인 지 고민하고 의료공동체의 확장과 소통의 중요성을 깨닫는 계기를 마련하기를 지향 하였다.

영문 초록

In this paper, the goals and educational content of writing in the medical field are suggested based on the necessity to strengthen the connection between liberal writing and a major. Modern medical science pursues patient-oriented medical care, and medical practitioners and patients should be able to communicate with each other as one community through the inter-mediation of disease. Writing in the medical field is a process of understanding oneself first in order to understand one’s body and those of others; thus, the necessity to form self-narrative based on selfreflective writing is discussed. In addition, educational content should include the fact that one needs to maintain an attitude oriented toward others, that an individual cannot be separated from others, and that all of us are in the community of a diseasenarrative. Medical practitioners have to accept the fact that they are also vulnerable to sickness. Through these discussions, it is expected that the future medical practitioner will form his or her identity of “a listening doctor” and “a patient doctor.” More specifically, the content for medical writing was proposed while the patient family doctor community focused on sickness being taken into consideration. The educational content has been suggested, through which one can have the opportunity to understand a sick body by writing about one’s own experiences with illness and thinking about the situation of a patient as the main agent of sickness and a patient’s family as the main agent of caregiving through various texts about disease. Finally, the study intended that students would have the chance to think over the meaning of sickness in an individual’s life and realize the importance of the expansion of a medical community and communication.
