국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 교육과정 개혁의 방법으로 전문학습공동체의 가능성을 탐색하는 것이다. 연구를 위해 A 대학의 지원 프로그램으로 운영된 6개 전문학습공동체의 사례를 관찰했다. 그 결과, A 대학의 전문학습공동체에서 교수들은 첫째, 삶을 공유하고 유대를 형성했다. 둘째, 전문학습공동체에서 교수들은 대학의 교육과정 정책과 관련된 문제들을 털어 놓고 논의했다. 셋째, 교수들은 대학의 교육 정책과 다양한 교육 사례를 접하고, 이를 주제로 논의하고 의미를 형성했다. 넷째, 실천 현장의 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법을 모색했다. 연구자는 조사 결과를 바탕으로 교육과정 개혁방법으로 전문학습공동체의 가능성을 다음과 같이 논의했다. 첫째, 전문학습공동체에서 공유된 정서는 장기적인 교수 협력 문화를 창출할 수 있는 기반이 된다. 둘째, 전문학습공동체 활동을 통해 교수들이 교육과정 개혁에 주체적인 역할을 할 수 있다. 셋째, 전문학습공동체는 대학 본부와 실천 현장을 잇는 소통의 공간이 될 수 있는 것이다. 이러한 가능성을 살리기 위한 시사점은 우선, 전문학습공동체는 교수들 간의 협력 문화 정착을 위해 장기적인 관점으로 접근해야할 필요가 있다는 것이다. 그리고 전문학습공동체를 중심으로 대학의 여러 교육과정 개발 및 실행 수준이 순환적으로 연결될 수 있는 구조가 마련되어야 한다는 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the possibilities of professional learning communities (PLC) as a way of curriculum reforms. For the study, the researchers investigated the cases of six professional learning communities operated under the University A’s support program. As a result of the investigation, first, the professors shared their lives and formed a sense of fellowship at the PLC. Second, in the PLC, professors discussed issues related to the curriculum policy of the university. Third, professors learned the university’s educational policy and various educational cases, discussed it as a topic, and built meaning. Fourth, they tried to find a way to solve the problem in the field of practice. Based on the findings, the researchers discussed the possibilities of PLC as a way of curriculum reform as follows. First, the emotion shared in PLC is the basis for creating a long-term culture of teaching cooperation. Second, through PLC activities, professors can play a major role in curriculum reform. Third, PLC can be a space for communication between the university headquarters and the practice site. The implication to take advantage of this possibility is that, first of all, the PLC needs to take a long-term approach to establish a culture of cooperation between professors. In addition, a structure should be prepared to circularly connect the development and implementation of various curriculums of universities around the professional learning community.
