성별, 자아존중감 및 자기통제력이 대학생의 스마트폰 중독 경향에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학생의 성별, 자아존중감과 자기통제력이 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 부산광역시 3개 대학 대학생 365명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 자아존중감과 자기통제력이 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 상관분석 및 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 자아존중감은 스마트폰 중독과 부적상관이 있었고, 자기통제력도 스마트폰 중독과 부적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성별, 자아존중감, 자기통제력은 스마트폰 중독에 부적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 여학생이 스마트폰 중독 경향이 s남학생에 비해 높은 것으로 나타났다. 자아존중감과 자기통제력이 높은 사람은 스마트폰 중독 경향이 낮았다. 그리고 독립변인들은 스마트폰 중독의 13.8%를 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자기통제력은 스마트폰 중독 하위요인(일상생활장애, 가상세계지향성, 금단, 내성)에 일관적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 성별, 자아존중감은 부분적으로만 스마트폰 하위요인에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구를 통해 스마트폰 사용 을 스스로 통제하고 자신에 대해 돌아볼 수 있는 기회나 프로그램 제공, 앱 개발 등이 필요하다는 것을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of gender, self-esteem, and self-control on the smartphone addiction in university students. Study subjects were 365 university students in Busan area. For this, correlation and multi-linear regression analysis were used. Followings are the results of the research: (a) There was significant negative correlations between ‘self-esteem’ and ‘smartphone addiction’, and also significant negative correlations between ‘self-control’ and ‘smartphone addiction’, but positive correlation between ‘self-esteem’ and ‘self-control’. (b) The gender, self-esteem, and self-control effected on the smartphone addiction positively. Girls showed higher smartphone addicted tendency than boys. Those who had high self-esteem and self-control had low tendency of smartphone addiction. Dependant variables explained 13.8% of the smartphone addiction. (c) The self-control had an effect on all of four subdomains of smartphone addiction such as disturbance of adaptive functions, virtual life orientation, withdrawal, and tolerance. Gender and self-esteem showed only partly effects on four subdomains.
