국문 초록

본 연구는 운전 도로 조건의 복잡성에 따른 인지적 부하 수준과 이에 따른 심박율을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 Jahn, Oehme, Krems와 Gelau(2005)의 복잡성 수준과 유사하게 도심지 주행 조건, 고속도로 주행 조건, 그리고 운전을 하지 않는 통제 조건을 구성하여 각 조건별로 OSPAN 과제 중 수식과제의 반응시간과 정확률을 측정하였다. 또한 각 도로 조건과 부하 조건에 따른 심박율을 측정하였다. 그 결과, 도심지와 고속도로 주행 조건간에 인지적 부하 수준의 차이는 유의하지 않았으며, 심박율의 결과에서 도심지 주행 조건은 부하 조건에 따른 차이가 유의하지 않은 반면, 고속도로 주행 조건은 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 부가적인 과제가 요구하는 자원의 속성에 따라 도로 조건의 복잡성의 영향이 달라질 수 있음을 시사하는 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the differences between cognitive load’s level and heart-rate according to the complexity of road conditions. Accuracy and reaction time of calculation, the part of OSPAN tasks, were measured in the tasks: down-town driving, highway driving, and control condition. This discrimination is likely to the level of complexity suggested by Jahn, Oehme, Krems, and Gelau in 2005. The results shows that there is no significant difference in cognitive load’s level between down-town driving and highway driving. In addition, the condition of down-town driving has no significant difference in heart-rate, but that of highway driving has significant difference. This shows that the complexity of road conditions will affect additional task differently due to the modality of source.
