국문 초록

본 연구는 세월호 추모활동에 참여한 한 대학생의 활동 경험을 탐구하고자 하였다. 개인의 경험을 이야기를 통해 탐구하는 내러티브 탐구 방법론을 사용하여 참여자 유하늘의 세월호 추모활동 경험에 대한 이야기를 탐구하였다. 참여자 유하늘은 세월호 추모활동이 버겁고 힘들었지만 함께하는 사람들이 좋은 사람들이라 오랜 시간을 버텨올 수 있었다. 유하늘은 세월호 추모활동을 경험하면서 성장과 피해를 모두 경험하였다. 유하늘이 겪은 경험 이야기는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유하늘은 사람을 만나는 데 진심을 다하면 그 진심이 통한다는 것을 배웠다. 둘째, 사람을 믿지 못했던 유하늘은 세월호 추모활동을 겪으면서 만난 사람들로 인해 사람을 믿을 수 있게 되었다. 셋째, 자신의 몸과 마음을 소중하게 생각하지 않았던 유하늘은 자신을 좀 더 소중하게 대할 필요가 있다는 것을 알게 되었다. 넷째, 유하늘은 좀 더 좋은 사회를 만들고 싶다는 삶의 목표가 생겼다. 다섯째, 유하늘은 자신과 가까운 사람이 떠나간다는 게 두려워졌다. 여섯째, 세월호 추모활동 기간이 길어지면서 유하늘은 새로운 마음의 상처들이 생겨났다. 본 연구를 통해 유하늘 개인 경험에 대한 이해를 넘어 세월호 추모활동에 참여한 사람들의 총체적인 경험에 대한 이해로 확장되기를 바라며, 나아가 누군가를 돕는 사람을 돕는 방안을 마련하는 데 기여가 되기를 바란다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of a university student who participated in the memorial to the Sewol Ferry Victims. The Narrative Inquiry, which explores the individual’s experiences through stories, explored the stories of Yu Ha-neul in memorial to the Sewol Ferry victims and the changes afterwards. Although the Sewol Ferry tribute activity was difficult and demanding, Yu Ha-Neul was able to hold out for a long time as the people who were with him were good Yu Ha-neul experienced both positive and negative changes during the Sewol ferry tribute. The changes that the Yu’s experienced include: First, Yu’s learned that the sincerity matterswhen you are wholehearted t in meeting people. Second, thanks to the people he met during Sewol Ferry tribute, Yu’s, who usually did not believe in people, was able to trust people. Third, Yu Ha-Neul, who did not take much care of his body and mind, knew he needed to care more for himself Fourth, Yu’s came to have a life goal to create a better society. Fifth, Yu’s began to feel afraid that someone close to him would leave. Sixth, as the Sewol Ferry tribute was extended, Yu Ha-Neul began to have wounds. It would be desirable that this study will extend beyond the understanding of Yu Ha-Neul who participated in the memorial to the Sewol Ferry v victims to the overall experience of those who help others. The researcher also hope that it will contribute to the planning of helping people who help others.
