지역 문화축제 평가를 활용한 발전 방안 모색

국문 초록

수원 화성문화제는 올해로 55회를 맞는 대표적인 지역 문화축제이다. 그러나 오랜 전통과 경험에도 불구하고, 여전히 인근 지역주민이 절대 다수를 점하는 지역 편중성, 그리고 단기 방문으로 인한 체류관광객의 부재 등의 문제점이 상존하고 있다. 이는 화성문화제를 전국적인, 그리고 세계적인 축제로 발돋움시키는데 걸림돌이 되고 있다. 이 글에서는 수원 화성문화제의 평가 내용을 분석하여 화성문화제 프로그램의 개선과 축제의 발전 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 평가 결과 첫째, 외부 방문객을 유치할 수 있는 프로그램 개발, 둘째, 체류시간을 늘릴 수 있는 아이템의 발굴, 셋째, 가족이 모두 즐길 수 있는 콘텐츠 개발, 넷째 기존 프로그램들의 대폭적인 개선이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 이를 위해서는 보편적 감성과 글로벌화 가능성, 그리고 볼거리와 차별성을 바탕으로, 수원 화성을 테마로 한 일관성있는 콘텐츠의 발굴과, 전통과 역사를 바탕으로 한 현대적인 재해석과 재구성된 콘텐츠 개발, 아울러 장소성이 가미된 화성 만의 특별한 콘텐츠의 개발을 추진해야 함을 제안하였다. 또한 축제 운영기간의 확대를 통한 외부 방문객의 유입 효과 촉진, 축제장소의 핵심공간화를 통한 기억의 효율화, 축제프로그램의 간소화를 통한 프로그램 분리방안 등을 과제로 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival is one of the representative local culture festivals in Korea. However, despite the numerous proceedings, there still remain problems such as the local bias that the local residents have a large specific gravity of visitors, and the lack of staying visitors due to short - term visits. This is a stumbling block to bringing the this culture festival to national and international festival. In this article, I analyzed the evaluation contents of Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival and tried to suggest the improvement of the Hwaseong Culture Festival program and the development of the festival. The results of this study are as follows: First, it is necessary to develop a program that can attract outside visitors, second, to find items that can increase the stay time, third, to develop content that families can enjoy, and fourth, to significantly improve existing programs. Based on the universal sensitivity, globalization possibility, and differentiation, it is necessary to find out the consistent contents based on Suwon Hwaseong, to develop modern reinterpretation and reconstruction contents based on tradition and history. Also suggesting that it should promote the development of special contents of Suwon Hwaseong. In addition, this study suggested the promotion of the influx of outside visitors through the expansion of the festival period, the efficiency of the memory through the characterization of the festival place, and the program separation method by simplifying the festival program.
