국문 초록

이 연구에서는 충남 소재 A대학 재학생 375명을 대상으로 교양교육 만족도, 교육적 경험, 학습 성과 인식 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 교양교육의 전반적 질적 수준, 학사 관련 지도와 조언 제공, 행정 지원 서비스에 대한 인식 수준이 낮게 나타났다. 또한 교육적 경험은 고차원 능력보다는 사실 또는 정보의 기억에 치중한 것으로 인식하였다. 학습 성과 인식에서는 고차적 사고능력을 가장 낮게 인식하였다. 둘째, 캠퍼스 소재지별로 만족도, 다양한 교수학습 방법, 강조된 고차원 능력, 적극적 수업 참여, 대인관계 능력, 취업에 필요한 지식과 기술, 창의적 능력 등에서 유의미한 인식의 차이가 존재하였다. 셋째, 경험 인식 보다는 학습 성과 인식이 교양 교육 만족도에 더 많은 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 경험 인식 보다는 만족도 인식이 교양교육 성과 인식에 더 많은 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인하였다. 다섯째, A대학 재학생들은 교양교육과정 개선을 위해 과목 확대와 다양화를 통해 학생의 선택의 폭 확대에 대한 요구가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the relationships of 375 students’ perception on the satisfaction, educational experiences, learning outcomes of general education in ‘A’ university, the province of Chungnam. Findings are as follows; First, quality of overall general education, service of academic advising, and administrative supports were perceived relatively low by students. Also, it was revealed that courses for stimulating high levels of critical thinking were not sufficient, rather confined to memorization of facts and information. High levels of critical thinking were the least acknowledged as one of learning outcomes. Second, there are significant differences in perceiving on satisfaction, various teaching methods, high levels of critical thinking, active class involvement, interpersonal skills, knowledge and skill for employment, and creativity skill by campus locations. Third, perception on learning outcomes of general education had more positive influence on the satisfaction of general education than educational experiences. Fourth, perception on the satisfaction had more positive influence on learning outcomes of general education than educational experiences. Fifth, students’ highly advocated opinion for improving general education in ‘A’ University is as to enlarging the right of choice for students themselves through increasing and diversifying educational courses.
