종이책의 물성에 따른 수용자 감성작용에 관한연구

국문 초록

디지털에는 흔적과 감촉이 없으며 손끝으로 전해지는 종이의 감성을 직접 느낄 수 없다. 선행연구를 통해 물성(物性)에 따른 종이책을 살펴보고 인간의 감각적 본성에 충실한 매체로서의 종이책에 대해 탐구하였다. 나아가 종이의 선택이 책의 성격을 구분 짓거나 북 디자인의 중요한 요인으로 기여되는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 본 연구의 실증연구를 통해 종이의 독립적 가치를 발견하고 수용자가 경험하는 책의 종이질감 유형에 따라 작용하는 감성 차이를 연구 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 통해 종이 특성에 따라 수용자 감성작용 차이는 촉각적 감각보다 시각적 형용사의 주성분이 가장 높게 나타남을 도출 할 수 있었고 다음으로 촉각적 감각이 높게 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 반면 질감의 감촉적 유무가 강하게 느껴지는 종이를 통해 ‘감성적인’, ‘따뜻한’의 감성측정용어를 추출 할 수 있었다. 또한 종이가 가진 백색도(whiteness)의 미묘한 차이가 수용자의 감성작용에 유의미함을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통해 어떠한 특성의 종이가 종이의 감성기능을 발생시키는지의 가능성을 엿 보았다. 또한 단순한 물질성이 아닌 종이의 시각과 촉각의 느낌, 인간 친화성의 감성기능을 간과해서는 안 될 것이다.

영문 초록

There is no trace or feel in the digital world, and there is no touch of paper that is passed down to the fingertips. Through a prior study, we looked at paper books based on physical properties and explored paper books as a medium devoted to human sensual nature. Furthermore, the purpose of this study is to distinguish the character of a book or contribute to an important factor in book design. Through empirical research in this study, we discovered the independent value of paper and studied and analyzed the differences in sensitivity that act on the type of paper texture in the book experienced by the receptor. The analysis results showed that differences in receptor sensitivity depending on paper characteristics resulted in the highest visual adjective component than tactile sensibility, followed by higher tactile sensibility. On the other hand, emotional measurement terms of emotional and warm could be extracted through a paper that feels strongly about the texture. It was also noted that the subtle differences in white intensity that paper had were significant to the receptors emotional response. This gave us a glimpse of the potential for what characteristic of paper would produce an emotional function of the paper. Also, there is a need not to overlook the visual, tactile feel of paper and the emotional function of human affinity, not just materiality.
