국문 초록

스마트폰 등장 이후 웹 개발 시에 고려할 요소가 많아졌다. 화면너비가 변화할 때 가독성의 문제를 고려하는 것 역시 중요한 요소 중에 하나다. 본 연구에서는 웹 문서의 너비에 따라 텍스트의 글자 크기와 행간이 가독성에 미치는 영향에 대해 전문가 조사를 통해 알아보고자 했다. 리커드 5점 척도로 각 항목을 평가하여 내용 타당도(CVR), 수렴도, 합의도를 도출하였다. 그 결과 문서의 너비가 좁을 때나 넓을 때나 공통으로 120%, 160%, 200%의 행간 중에 200%의 행간이 가독성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 글자 크기의 경우 문서의 너비가 좁을 때는 1rem과 1.5rem이 양호하나 1rem이 좀 더 나은 것으로 의견이 수렴되었다. 문서의 너비가 넓을 경우에는 2rem의 큰 글자가 가장 가독성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이처럼 화면(문서) 너비의 변화에 따른 가독성에 영향을 줄 수 있는 다양한 요인들이 꾸준히 연구되어 CSS에 두루 반영될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Since the advent of smartphones, there are many factors to consider in web development. Consideration the issue of legibility as the screen width changes is also an important factor. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of font-size and line-height on legibility according to the width of web documents through expert surveys. In the survey, each items was analyzed use Likert five-point scale to derive a content adequacy(CVR), convergence, and consensus. The results showed that 200% of the lines between 120%, 160% and 200% were highly legible, both when the document was narrow and wide. For the size of the letter, it was concluded that 1rem and 1.5rem are good when the width of the document is narrow, but 1rem are better. If the width of the document was wide, 2rem large letters were found to be the most legible. We hope that various factors that can affect legibility can be continuously studied and reflected in CSS as screen(web document) width changes.
