국문 초록

본고에서는 고전문학에서 제기한 문제의식이 현실 문제에 적용 가능하다는 관점에서 <홍길동전>을 활용한 교양 글쓰기 방안을 제안하였다. 먼저 <홍길동전>의 현재적 가치를 모색하기 위해 다음의 세 가지 질문을 던졌다. 첫째, 우리시대에도 홍길동은 존재하는가? 둘째, 홍길동의 저항은 정당한가? 셋째, 타자가 타자를 억압하는 모순은 왜 발생하는가? 세 가지 질문에 답하기 위해 <홍길동전>의 ‘적서차별, 의적 활동, 율도국 정벌’을 분석하였고, 이를 통해 ‘생득적 요인에 의한 차별, 부당한 공권력에 대한 저항, 주체와 타자의 문제’라는 오늘날에도 유효한 문제의식을 추출하였다. 다음으로 <홍길동전>의 현재적 가치를 교양 글쓰기 교과목에 적용하기 위해서 비판적 사고를 위한 문제해결 방식의 글쓰기를 제시하였다. 문제해결 글쓰기 방법으로 문제중심학습(Problem-Based Learning:PBL) 모형을 적용하여 고전의 문제를 현실의 문제로 확장하하였다. 이 방법은 학습자가 작품과 현실의 관련성을 찾는 과정에서 자기주도적으로 문제를 심화하고 해결하는 능력을 키울 수 있다. 이러한 글쓰기 과정은 고전문학에서 제기되어 지금도 해결되지 않는 인간의 본질적 문제에 대한 탐구이자 자신에 대한 반성과 성찰이기도 하다.

영문 초록

This paper proposed plans for writing as liberal education based on Hongildongjeon from the perspective that the problematic consciousness raised in classical literature could be applied to real issues. In an attempt to search for its present values, the investigator asked the three following questions: first, do Hong Gil-dongs exist in this era? Second, is his resistance just? Finally, why does the suppression of others by others happen? Trying to answer those questions, the investigator analyzed Hongildongjeon in terms of “discrimination between legitimate and illegitimate children, activities as a righteous outlaw, and conquest of Yuldoguk.” Based on the analysis results, the study identified valid problematic consciousness even for today such as “discrimination according to innate factors, resistance against unjust public power, and issues of subjects and others.” The study then proposed plans for writing from problem-solving to apply its present values to the subject of writing as liberal education. A writing process of applying the problem-based learning(PBL) model and expanding the problems in classics into real world ones was suggested as a method for problem-solving writing. The method can help learners improve their abilities to reinforce and resolve problems in a self-directed manner in the process of finding connections between works and the reality. Such a writing process is an inquiry into the essential problems of human beings that were raised in classical literature and have not been solved yet and also a reflection and introspection onto oneself.
