여성살해 보도에 대한 프레임 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 언론보도가 특정 프레임에 의해 선택과 강조, 배제된다는 특성에 근거하여 여성살해 사건에 대한 프레임 분석을 실시하였다. 분석을 위해 2002년부터 2017년의 국민일보와 한겨레신문에 보도된 여성살해 신문기사를 대상으로 형식적·내용적 차원의 프레임 분석을 실시하였다 연구의 주요 결론과 시사점은 다음과 같다. 먼저, 형식적 측면에서의 프레임 분석 결과 두 신문사 모두 사건중심의 기사가 95% 이상으로 나타났으며 여성살해라는 공통의 테마 또는 가정폭력 살인이나 데이트폭력 살인과 같은 친밀한 관계를 기반으로 하는 사건조차도 이를 심층적으로 분석하고 근본적인 원인을 다루는 기사는 미미한 수준이었다. 둘째, 이 연구에서는 피해자 비난 프레임의 사용은 피해자-가해자가 친밀한 관계일 경우 더욱 두드러졌다. 또한 직접적 피해자 비난표현보다는 피해자의 잔소리, 체벌, 성적 비난 등 가해자와의 상호작용 행위나 가해자를 동정하며 간접적으로 피해자를 비난하는 프레임이 사용된 것을 확인하였다. 셋째, 가해자 비난 프레임은 법원 판결과정을 기사화시켜 가해자의 잔인성과 마땅히 처벌 받아야 함을 부각시키는 반면 가해의 원인이 되는 개인적, 사회적 차원의 근원적인 원인들에 대한 보도는 이루어지지 않았다. 마지막으로 체제 비난 프레임은 매우 적게 나타났는데 여성살해가 사회적 차원의 해결을 강구해야 할 사안으로 주목받지 못한 것은 체제 비난 프레임의 희소성에 기인한 것으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

The study conducted a framing analysis of femicide cases based on the characteristic that media reports were selected, highlighted and excluded by a particular frame. For the purpose of analysis, the frame analysis was conducted on a form-type level and on a content level based on the femicide cases reported in the Kukmin Ilbo and Hankyoreh from 2002 to 2017. The main conclusions and implications of the study are as follows First, as a result of formal frame analysis, more than 95% of episodic frames were found in both newspapers. However, few articles deal with in-depth analysis and the underlying causes, even on the common themes of female murder or on intimate relationships such as domestic or date violence murders. Second, the use of victim criticism frames in this study was more prominent when the victim-offender was intimate. In addition, it was confirmed that rather than directly criticizing the victim by emphasizing the deviance and immorality of women, frameworks were used to interact with female victims, such as nagging, corporal punishment, and sexual harassment, or indirectly criticizing the victim in sympathy with the perpetrator. Third, while the frame of the perpetrator victim highlights the perpetrator s cruelty and due punishment, no reports have been made of the underlying causes of the abuse at the personal and social levels. Lastly, the frame of criticism of the system appeared very few. And it was judged that the female murder was not noticed as a matter to be resolved at the social level due to the scarcity of the frame criticism of the system.
