위키(Wiki)를 활용한대학 인문학 수업의 디지털 글쓰기 교육

국문 초록

본 논문은 위키(Wiki)를 활용한 대학 인문학 수업의 디지털 글쓰기 교육에 대해 소개하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 인문학에 정보통신기술을 접목한 디지털 인문학이란 무엇인지, 디지털 인문학의 연구영역과 교육영역에의 활용 가능성에 대하여 알아보았다. 이어서 디지털 글쓰기의 도구로 사용될 위키(Wiki)의 개념과 특징을 알아보고, 교육 영역에 적용된 기존 사례를 검토해보았다. 또한 2016년 1학기에 진행된 ‘고전문학사 핵심어 콘텐츠’ 제작 수업 사례를 소개하였다. 위키는 다양한 디지털 기술 도구 중에서도 특히 사용자 간에 협력적으로 문서를 작성하고 수정할 수 있어서 연구 영역이나 교육 영역에 모두 활용이 가능하다. 그렇기 때문에 이미 국내외 여러 대학에서는 위키를 교육적으로 활용하여 수업의 질을 높이려는 노력을 하고 있다. 주로 협력적 활동을 필요로 하는 수업에서 유의미한 결과를 얻을 수 있었고, 글쓰기 능력 향상에 도움이 되는 것으로 알려졌다. ‘고전문학사 핵심어 콘텐츠’ 제작 수업 사례를 통해서 위키의 교육적 활용성에 대해서 다시 한 번 확인해 볼 수 있었다. ‘고전문학사 핵심어 콘텐츠’ 제작 수업은 ‘고전장르 찾기’, ‘관계망 그리기’, ‘핵심어 작성하기’, ‘디지털 문장쓰기’의 4단계로 진행되었다. 15주의 수업 기간 중 8주에 시행되는 중간고사를 전후로 하여 중간고사 이전에는 고전문학이란 무엇인지, 고전문학의 전반적인 구조와 짜임새의 이해를 돕기 위해서 그룹별로 고전문학 장르를 찾아보고, 고전문학 장르의 관계망을 그려 위키 페이지에 올리도록 하였다. 중간고사 이후에는 구성원 개별적으로 작성하게 될 핵심어를 분배하고, 핵심어 작성을 위한 위키 문법 교육과, 실질적 위키 페이지 작성 단계인 디지털 글쓰기를 실행하였다. 위키를 활용하여 디지털 콘텐츠 결과물을 만들어내는 과정에서 두 가지의 디지털 글쓰기 특징을 확인할 수 있었다. 첫째, 협력적 글쓰기 도구로 활용 가능하며, 둘째, 자기 주도적 글쓰기를 가능하게 한다는 점이다. 무엇보다도 최대의 성과는 그룹별, 개인별 결과물이 온라인상에 빠르게 게시되고 공유되면서 책임감을 갖게 되고, 인터넷상에 자신들만의 지식을 직접 표현해냈다는 점에서 성취감을 느끼게 하였다는 점이다.

영문 초록

This paper introduces digital writing in college humanities class using Wiki. For this, it first has examined the usability of digital humanities study in research and educational areas based on what the digital humanities is, the humanities in which information and communication technology. The paper has then explored the concept and characteristics of Wiki, a tool used for digital writing, and reviewed existing cases in which it was applied. This paper also introduces a case of class for the production of ‘key word contents in the history of Korean classic literature’ carried in the first semester in 2016. Wiki can be used in both research and educational areas especially as users can cooperatively create and modify tests in Wiki among other digital technology tools. Several domestic and foreign colleges and universities as such are making efforts to promote the quality of class by using Wiki educationally. It has been reported that one can get significant results in classes mainly requiring cooperative activities with the tool, and it is helpful for increasing one’s writing ability. We have been once again able to confirm the educational utility of Wiki via the class for the production of ‘key word contents in the history of Korean classic literature.’ The class was carried out in 4 steps including ‘finding out classic genres,’ ‘drawing relational networks,’ ‘writing key words out,’ and ‘digital sentence composition.’ Before and after the mid-term exam in the 8th week during the 15 week semester, each group was led to find out classic literary genres for helping their understanding of what classic literature is, that is, the general structure and construction of classic literature, and they were encouraged to draw a relational network of classic literature genres and upload it on the Wiki page. After the mid-term exam, each member in the class was assigned keywords they would write out individually, and the education of Wiki grammar for writing out keywords and digital writing as a step for Wiki page composition were carried out. We have found out two features of digital writing in the course of making digital contents using Wiki. First, it is possible to use it as a tool for cooperative writing, and second, it enables self-directed writing. The best achievement from this study above all is that the students felt responsible as their group and individual products were uploaded and showed online, and had a sense of achievement in that they had expressed their own knowledge on Internet.
