石亭 李定稷 題畵詩의 形象化 具顯 양상

국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 石亭 李定稷(1841-1910)의 題畵詩가 어떻게 문학적으로 형상화되었는지를 살피고, 제화시와 畵論과의 관련성을 구명하는 데에 두었다. 연구 대상은 이정직의 제화시 총 13題 97首이며, 이들 작품을 정리한 결과, 첫째, 어떤 제화시는 畵意를 드러내 보이고 있고, 둘째 畵面의 내용을 설명하는 경우도 있으며, 셋째 畵法을 제시하는 등 다양한 양상을 보이고 있음을 확인하였다. 연구 방법은 이러한 제화시의 유형들을 세 가지 양상으로 대별하여 구체적으로 살폈다. 첫째, 화의를 드러낸 작품은 3제 19수로 집계되었는데, 이들은 주로 ‘獻壽’와 관련됨을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 제화시는 주제를 선명하게 드러낸 점으로 인하여 내용 이해는 쉽게 되는 이점이 있지만, 문예미는 일단 유보해야 한다고 생각하였다. 둘째, 화면의 내용을 설명한 작품으로는 총5제 63수가 있는 것으로 확인하고, 사군자 그림을 시로 읊은 작품을 중심으로 논의하였다. 그 결과, 그림의 내용을 寫意化하여 설명했음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 화법을 제시한 작품은 총 5제 15수가 있음을 확인하였다. 이정직은 일찍이 그림을 그리는 방법적인 차원에서 寫形과 寫意, 傳神에 대한 관점을 이론적으로 드러낸 적이 있는데, 제화시를 통해서도 화론을 말하였다. 또한 매화를 그리는 방법인 圈白梅와 漬墨梅를 직접 체험해보고 그 특징을 말하였다. 마지막으로 이정직의 제화시를 그가 주장한 문인화론 및 전신론과 연관지어 살폈다. 이정직은 전문화가가 아닌 문인화가로서의 취향과 전신론의 화론을 이야기한 바 있는데, 그의 이러한 견해는 제화시에서도 은연 중에 드러나 생각과 창작이 일치했다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study speculated on Jehwasi poetry by Lee Jeong-Jik and how it was configured by him. There are a total of 97 poems with 13 themes in Jehwasi by Lee Jeong-Jik. Some poems describe the intent of painting, some the content in the painting and others present painting techniques. First, nineteen poems with three different titles show the intent of painting and are usually related to a toast for longevity. They commonly concentrate on presenting situational themes rather than revealing widely-known images of bamboo, pine trees and orchids. The Jehwasi can be helpful in understanding the content because they show the themes clearly, but the literary beauty is doubtful. Second, there are a total of 63 poems with five different themes which describe the content of paintings and this study gave focus to poems which recite paintings of the Four Gracious Plants. As a result, the content of paintings were described through the paintings. After appreciating the paintings with a learned man s spirit, the poet recited what he felt through the paintings in poetry. This means that he thought that he should not be contrary to the spirit of the scholars in reciting poetry. Third, it was found that there are fifteen poems with five different themes with respect to the methods of painting, Lee Jeong-Jik presented theories on Sahyong and Saoui and Jeonsin(painting which describes personality and the internal world of the subjects as well as their appearance). He mentioned painting theory through Jehwasi. Also, he tried the different ways of drawing a plum tree, Gwonbaekmae and Jimukmae and mentioned their characteristics. This study called it ‘Leesinonhwa’ and concluded that he discussed poetry, which is considered one of the characteristics in his poetry. It was discovered that Lee Jeong-Jik’s Jehwasi is in part related to theories of painting, Muninhwaron and Jeonsinron.
